Did anyone else find themselves star struck on Saturday evening of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League race in Cable?!? Families camping at Mt. Telemark Village were treated to one of the most spectacular star-filled skies we've seen in awhile. ✨️

Moments like this remind us that beyond riding bikes there's also friends, family, camping, outdoors, laughter, fun and a sky full of stars!🌟 And that's all part of what makes National Interscholastic Cycling Association special!

Adrenaline was high as student-athlete mountain bikers took on the three-day Cable Conquest Festival. More than 1,500 riders and 80 teams traveled from places as far as Marquette, Michigan, Green Bay, Hayward and Duluth to compete.

Yesterday was an exciting day of racing at Powers Bluff in Arpin! 6 podium finishes, 4 first time NICA racers, 3 athletes running in their bikes, lots of flat tire repairs and fun memories made with our teammates! We're just getting started with the 2026 race season! More photos to come, but here's a glimpse of the day!

We have an exciting new recognition program for our athletes this season. Thanks to the generosity of Randy Lackman at Rib Mountain Cycles we have some amazing chain ring awards for our coaches to hand out to deserving athletes for modeling the behaviors that make a great athlete. These behaviors include Perseverance, Triumph, Kindness, Attitude, Determination and Commitment.

Our first award was presented at practice on Thursday evening to Katie Knetter for Perseverance! 🎉

Katie is new to the sport of mountain biking and has already demonstrated amazing perseverance. She chose to re-ride the time trial course twice in one week as she works to improve her time. Since the beginning of the season, she has shown the greatest improvement in her time of anyone on the team!

Katie consistently works to improve her skills and endurance, both at practice and on her own. We are excited to have her on our team and can't wait to see what she accomplishes!

Keep up the excellent work, Katie! 🚵‍♀️👏

Let's hear it for the 2026 Scavenger Hunt put together by Coach Stubb! Teams work together to solve clues, navigate Nine Mile and ride together. Afterwards we celebrate with a campfire and s'mores. A little bit of fun before race season begins next week!

Last night we wrapped up the Advanced Youth Ride Program! This group runs Wednesday evenings through the summer putting on a few more miles and riding a bit more advanced trails than the standard youth ride program. Huge thank you to Coach Faust and CWOCC for giving these future Wausau United Ride athletes more opportunities to ride!
