Waxahachie Independent School District announces that Shane Tolleson, Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Director at Waxahachie High School, will be leaving the district to return to Denton Ryan High School, effective January 21, 2026.

Coach Tolleson has served Waxahachie ISD for the past five years, during which time he played a pivotal role in advancing the football program and strengthening the culture of Waxahachie High School athletics. Under his leadership, the program experienced significant growth, competitive success, and a renewed sense of pride and unity.

Beyond wins and losses, Coach Tolleson made a lasting impact by instilling values of discipline, respect, and accountability in his student-athletes. He was instrumental in developing young men of character while fostering a strong sense of community among players, families, and fans.

Waxahachie ISD extends its sincere appreciation to Coach Tolleson for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence. While the district is saddened to see him go, it fully supports his decision and wishes him continued success as he begins the next chapter of his professional journey.
