Lamplight Sept 2026 started off a little rocky lol. The heat and humidity put quite a damper on things. We all were hot, exhausted, and crabby lol, but despite that, things went really great overall. I like to remind everyone that we, plus most the horses, are here to learn and get more experience, as safely possible. Have FUN too!
✨First up, Ellena Shaw and her “Outta The Blue” pony got reserve champion in her hunter division. The handsome Fabio lookalike is still pretty green and new to us. He’s learning so much about ridden work, let alone going to shows. I cannot wait to see what these 2 are doing a year from now! These 2 will be a force to reckon with. Pony Finals? Im betting on it.
✨Rylie Shaw Markus got a few good ribbons on WOF’s “Pippi Longstocking”. They were quite spectacular! I was surprised we didn’t see a champion or reserve there. Can’t win them all tho! She also rode Christy’s “No Grey Area” and did just as well. They earned 2nd place in a big eq class.
✨Video of WOF’s Neptune RC. For a young horse, only a small handful of trips off property, she blew me away. Evelyn Marello took her in a couple cross rail classes. The goal: keep her calm, relaxed, good experience. Mission accomplished. She took all the hustle n bustle at Lamplight super well. Way better than I expected.
✨Christy Bauer, our adult ammy extraordinaire, leader of the pony posse, also moved up some ribbon placings since her last time showing on her “No Grey Area”, proving a lot of progress had been made for the pair. Not to mention, it was a large and competitive show! Im so glad she decided to ride in it!
✨Lastly Evelyn Marello rode the pants off “No Grey Area” receiving champion in her Hunter division. She also rode WOF’s “Raindrop on Roses” Sunday. The ol’ gal looked phenomenal. She’s still got it 👌
