Repetition is where the real work happens. 🔁

You can watch a video, hear something that clicks and feel motivated in the moment… but if you never come back to it, it’s pretty easy to forget and move on to the next thing.

Think about how you train your horse. You wouldn’t teach them something once and expect them to have it down the next day.

Your mindset is no different.

Keep practicing it. Keep coming back to it. The more you repeat it, the more natural it becomes.

Sometimes the words we needed to hear years ago are exactly the words someone else needs today.

So let’s fill the comments with them.

What would you tell the version of yourself from five years ago? A reminder, a little encouragement, something you wish someone had told you sooner. Leave it below.

You never know who might need to read it today.

I’ll go first 👇

So… what does a Mental Performance Coach actually do? 🤔

It’s not about telling you to “just be confident” or “stop being nervous.”

It’s about giving riders practical tools to handle pressure, work through setbacks, stay present and feel more confident in the saddle.

Because the mental side of riding can be worked on too, and sometimes, a small shift in how you think can completely change how you ride.

Swipe through and let’s break it down. 👉

O-L-D. A word I hear riders use a little too often. 😅

Age is a number. It doesn’t have to decide how you feel, how you show up, or what you’re still capable of.

Think back to an age when you felt your best. Maybe you felt strong, confident, carefree, or like anything was possible.

Keep a little bit of that version of yourself with you.

So, if you could pick an age to be today… what would it be? 👇

Your mindset doesn’t stay in your head when you get in the saddle.

It shows up in your breathing, your body, your reactions and the way you communicate with your horse. If you’re riding while waiting for something to go wrong, chances are you’re already changing the way you ride.

One of the most important parts of equestrian mental performance is learning to recognize when your thoughts are getting ahead of what’s actually happening.

Come back to the moment. Come back to your horse. Ride what’s in front of you.

That’s a skill, and like everything else in riding, it gets better with practice.

Your biggest opponent shouldn’t be your own mind.

As riders, we spend so much time training our horses. We work on their fitness, their confidence, their reactions and their ability to handle pressure. But how much time are you spending training yourself to do the same?

Because when you walk into the show ring, your horse isn’t the only one feeling the pressure.

The overthinking. The nerves. The fear of making a mistake. The memory of the last bad round. That little voice asking, what if it happens again?

Mental performance training isn’t about getting rid of nerves or pretending you’re confident all the time. It’s about learning how to manage those thoughts, stay present and ride the horse underneath you, even when the pressure is on.

You train your horse through repetition. Your mind needs that same practice.

The goal isn’t to never feel nervous. It’s to know what to do when you do.

That’s where real rider confidence starts. 💪

When was the last time you just had fun with your horse?

We can get so caught up in training, competing and getting everything right that we forget riding is supposed to be fun too.

Laugh at yourself. Play with your horse. Enjoy it.

You can take your riding seriously without taking every moment so seriously.

Hands up if you could use a little more fun today 🙋‍♂️

A little reminder for your next ride: relax your jaw, drop your shoulders, soften your hands and breathe.

We carry more tension than we realize, and your horse can feel it too.

Sometimes you don’t need to try harder. You just need to let go a little.
