A few pictures from Sunday when I the pleasure of getting my nephew Weston, the newest addition to the Soucie family out on the water. He loved it! Caught a few macs, drove the boat, and laughed hysterically watching his dad get splashed on the ride back in. Better watch out, he’s going to be a weapon in a couple years!

Had a great morning with Mike and Ryan as we set out to land their first saltwater fish on fly. Both had fished some for trout, but had never thrown in the big pond. It was Mike who landed this nice first striper today. Nice work and safe travels back to “Ba’ Habah”!

Was a pleasure to have Grace and Chris, a father-daughter duo up from central Mass and new to saltwater fly fishing out tonight for a little fishing and on the water coaching and instruction. While we didn’t seal the deal on a first fish, we saw some awesome schools and made some great shots. Watched their casting distance double and double haul really start to work for them. Keep at it Grace, and remember it’s all in the journey!

Justin, who is visiting Wells with family from Wisconsin reached out wanting to catch his first striper on fly. Today, he did just that! We played around a bit out front until the swell and a little seasickness forced us to move to find flatter waters. Inside the harbor it didn’t take long until Justin got tight, and soon had his first striper on the fly to the side of the boat.
I love it when a plan B comes together.
Thanks Justin, enjoy the rest of your stay!

So this popped up on my memories today from 10 years ago. The inspiration behind the name. She was indeed a very salty dog.
Miss her everyday.
