Griffin Farm coaches riders at all levels, from beginning riding lessons to national competitions. Lessons, day camps, summer camps and more are available.
Offering lessons for riders of all levels ages 4 and up. Day camps, summer camps as well as scout and private camps available. Hunter/Jumper/ Dressage and event training available. Boarding is also available for horses in our program.

Fate Zero and Claudia - Champion in intermediate
Future express and Lisa - First blue over fences
Izzn’t She Pretty and Malin - 8th in the derby
Charlie Brown and Olivia - Champion in long stirrup, 2nd in the derby
Delilah and Elaina - Short stirrup champion, 4th in the derby
Malficent and Dani - Academy champion, 5th in the derby

What a spooky weekend for our annual Spooktacular horse show! All our horses and riders had excellent rounds and even better costumes, and the weather was perfect all weekend to get everyone in the Halloween spirit🎃💀🕸️

Another fantastic weekend at the Kirkwood Show hosted by DMG Shows
Highlights include:
Kenzie and Small Fry champion in beginner on Saturday
Lily and 24 Karrot champion in beginner on Sunday
Reilly and Secret Valentine campion in the intermediate on Sunday and a win in the 2’3 Hunter classic
Jolee and Harley Quinn champion in Children's ponies on Saturday
Olivia and Charlie Brown champion in long stirrup both days
Maren and You’re Hired reserve champion in the schooling both days
Avery and Hoosier Buddy reserve champion in children's ponies on Sunday
Emma and Mabel reserve campion in the long stirrup on Sunday

This week we had our Advanced camp! In addition to riding, our campers got to learn more in-depth about horse care including budgeting exercises, how tack works, and how to do chores around the farm.

Yesterday several of our horses and riders got to take a trip to Queeny horse park! It is always so much fun for everyone to get out of the arena and have some fun, and the kids had a blast cantering around on the grass and trying some of the smaller cross country jumps the park has open🌳🐎

HEAT STRESS ALERT! Ride with extreme caution over the next few days as the Heat Stress Index will be well above the 180 mark. According to the American Association of Equine Practitioners, even 17 minutes of light exercise in this extreme heat can raise a horse's internal temperature to dangerous levels. It may be a great week to do all those barn chores you've been putting off.

What a great weekend we had with our schooling show! It may have been a stormy Saturday, but we were able to rush everything inside and still have a very successful day. The weather improved for Sunday and we were able to go back outside! ☀️
Great job to all of our riders who have been working hard in their lessons to get ready. Thanks to Katie, Gabie, and Maria for helping riders get into the ring, all our working students for making sure everyone looked their best, and our judge Leslie for making the trip out for us all weekend🏅
Our next schooling show will be in October for our annual Spooktacular event!

What a fantastic weekend at Happenstance Farms schooling show! We took a total of 15 horse and rider combinations and of those it was the first time at an outside show for 8 of our riders, and everyone did incredibly well.
Highlights include champion placings for Shannon, Caroline, Elaina, Reilly, and Sophie and reserve campions to Lisa, Malin, Reilly, and Anna.
Thank you to all the parents for coming out to support, Luis and Lalo for making sure our horses look their best, our trainers Amanda, Katie, Kayla, and Gabie, and Ellen for such a well run show. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Griffin had an incredible weekend at the Flying Fox Stables schooling show! We took a total of 16 horse and rider pairs and everyone did a fantastic job both days of the show. We had several new horse and rider combinations, division move ups, and for some it was their first time in the ring!
Thank you to our trainers, Amanda, Kayla, Katie, and Gabie for helping prepare everyone, as well as Jorge and Luis for all their help making sure the horses looked their best.

Our Christmas party last week also served as a retirement party for our sweet Layla who left last week. We made a memory board of pictures from her many years here and the kids signed a stocking to fill with treats that were sent with her.
Layla is now happily spending her time at our instructor Monica’s house.

Our first GGF Holliday party was a huge success! Lots of our riders and their family were able to come hang out for a night of cookie decorating, stocking making, a gift exchange, ugly sweater contest, and of course lots and lots of food! Thank you to everyone for coming out and pitching in to make this such a fun night. Already looking forward to next year🎄

Soon we will be sending our wonderful lesson horse Layla off for a well deserved retirement. She has been here for many years and taught so many riders valuable lessons. Team Griffin had a fantastic weekend at the Kirkwood Show hosted by DMG Shows. It was many of our riders and horses first time showing and everyone had great placings all weekend. Thank you to all the trainers as well as our wonderful grooms Luis and Lalo. 🏆
Avery and Hip Hop Hooray finished with top ribbons in the cross rails with 20 in their class, at Avery’s first show
Gabie took Zephyr in his first show and ended with multiple ribbons in the schooling hunters
Molly piloted Forest Gump around his first show to finish champion in the academy division Saturday and had more top ribbons Sunday
Truth and Palmer took home champion both days in the short stirrup division and also secured the win in the MOHJO mini derby
Mia and Secret Valentine were reserve champion in the short stirrup
Sophie and Riviera were in the top ribbons for the limit hunters and 9th in the MOHJO hunter derby
Sydney and Charlie Brown took home the reserve in long stirrup along with first and second place finishes in their equitation, and a 5th in the hunter classic
Emma had a great first show with Chillin with a Villain, winning her eq and coming away with many other ribbons
Mila and 24 Karrot had multiple blues and other top ribbons all weekend in the academy for Mila’s first show
Cosette and Take a Chance headed into the beginner ring for Cosette’s first show and put in great rounds that landed them in the ribbons both days
Ella took Delilah around the long stirrup to finish champion for Ella’s first show after only a few rides on this pony
Louise took Bright and Sunny in the cross rails and ended up in the ribbons in a large class
Addie and Stallone went in the children’s ponies and came away with great placings
Remy and Harley Quinn went in the children’s ponies, winning their flat and having several ribbons over fences for both horse and riders first time in the 2’6” division and derby
Sara and Maleficent had two first place finishes in the .65 jumpers ending up reserve for the weekend, and 12th in the MOHJO hunter derby
Shannon and Felina took home reserve champion in the academy division and 7th in the MOHJO mini derby for Felinas first show
Jolee and That’s so Raven went in the beginner hunters for great ribbons all weekend
Elaina and Huckleberry Finn went in the short stirrup for excellent rides both days, putting them in the top ribbons every ride
Olivia took Izzn’t She Pretty in the beginner division for Olivia’s first show and they were in the ribbons all weekend
Maren went with Hoosier Buddy in the academy for her first show and came home with first and second place finishes
Payton and Porifera went in the beginner hunters for great ribbons
