‼️NO-HITTERS‼️
📌 Since 1876 only 314 no-hitters have been thrown which averages out to be about 2 a year. ⚾️ The list of pitchers is quite hefty…📊BUT did you know at the top of the list for most there are 2 catchers that have caught the same amount of no-hitters! 💭 Both catchers are retired but have a complete understanding of how to attack the lineup, when to use pitchers strengths or when to attack the hitters weaknesses🦾. This plays a pivotal role in success when behind the dish, this will allow the pitcher to trust in which pitch to throw and where to throw it.
📌⚾️‼️ In our DB Program this is one of the aspects of the game that is hammered into our athletes!!!! COME CHECK IT OUT!!! 📌⚾️‼️💭🧠

⚾️⚾️‼️One offer we have at Dirty Ballerz Catching is that we will create a portfolio for each catcher and keep it on file. With this information we will be able to track progress throughout the program to see the difference from start to finish. With the information gathered we will have it on hand and ready to go when it’s time to start talking about college baseball. Coach Doug will be able to send information directly to scouts and schools to help with recruiting in college baseball!!!‼️⚾️⚾️👀

One of the most under-rated attributes of a catcher is the ability to handle a relationship with his pitcher and umpire. One of the things Coach Doug can work on is how to get the catchers to pick up on key movements by their pitchers to lock them back into the strike zone. As well as great conversations to have with umpires that might increase their chances to get more shadow zone pitches called strikes!!!

Coach Doug ⚾️had a year stint with Toronto Blue Jays learning more about the analytical side of catching. 📊Our main focus was how to improve advance receiving metrics for our prospects and future catchers in the program. 🧠We put together tactical ways for guys to command the bottom half of the zone (pitchers dream). 📌📌For more information or a chance to learn about this reach out to setup your first lesson! 📌📌

The average pop time of a Big League catcher is 2.01. If you take a look at the top 10 throwing catchers you will find that the footwork and the exchange are consistent across the board. When building a pyramid you work from the ground up. The key to lowering your pop time is going to be quick feet!!

Getting feedback from players we worked with in the past is always a great way to build a future, check out what this Saint Leo Catcher had to say about working with Coach Doug:
Doug as a catching coach was a big reason I was able to reach the next level being college baseball. Doug was very tough on me because he was able to see who can take toughness and who is truly wanting to succeed and he pushes them to that next level. I love how he always made me want to be the best I could be. My biggest teaching moment with Doug was when we were at a perfect game tournament and during warmups I let a ball past me without blocking and Doug made me go get the ball at the backstop and not take it from the umpire. He helped me realize I need to get better with any smallest chance I get. Doug is a great catching coach and great leader.

With the Fall Season just about half way through for the High School season, take in to consideration how far your athletes have come just from being into a routine. Don’t let that slip away during the winter and get them into one of our four week sessions to keep them locked in during the off-season. There will be big prep work done for high schoolers trying out and getting ready to compete in the season.
