Raise your arms to call a foul and your shirt comes untucked. Every basketball official knows that one.

Here's the fix, and it isn't complicated: both of our basketball referee shirts carry 2 extra inches of body length. More shirt below the waistband, where it belongs.

The rest of the choice is easier than it looks. Two styles - the traditional Iconic stripe and the NCAA-style look - with identical construction underneath:

• Same athletic cut • Same rib-knit V-neck • Same integrated elastic whistle loop • Same 130 GSM moisture-wicking polyester • Same dye-sublimated graphics

So if you already wear one Don Stripes basketball shirt, switching styles keeps the fit and fabric you already know. Pick the look your crew wears - the shirt underneath is the same shirt.

Sizing tip: compare the chart against a shirt you already like. Start with chest width and body length, then raise your arms and reach across. You want easy movement and a tuck that holds.

You win the close call in your living room, not at the sideline.

Here's the thing nobody tells a new official: the signal that sells a close call isn't loud, it's practiced. If you're inventing it with three coaches and a whole bench watching, they can tell.

So do the work the night before.

Eyes first. See the whole play, then signal. Don't signal then look up hoping you were right.

Feet next. Get your stance set before your arms move. A planted official reads as a sure official.

Then the arms. Slow, square, held a beat longer than feels natural. Crew authority is just unhurried confidence.

Practice it in front of a mirror at home. Boring call, close call, the one you blew last week. By game day, it's muscle memory, not a guess.

The coaches don't read your rulebook. They read your body language.
