On behalf of the Springs Valley Youth League, we would like to send a big thank you to all those involved in taking care of our West Baden Ballpark. The town of West Baden has poured so much work into making our ballpark look so nice. As someone who has been on the board for over 5 years and been apart in coaching over 10, I have witnessed so much of its growth over the years. There are so many people who have worked behind the scenes to help get the great things we have. The splash pad, the lights, the new concession stand, our new shed for storage, new ADA walk way, safer parking, and just the overall appearance of our park has been such a vital piece to our community and youth.
Last weekend and this weekend we were able to host for one of the first times two seperate all star tournaments. One for our baseball teams, and one for our softball teams and 6U co-Ed division.
In years past we’ve only been able to host one weekend and in that weekend, we’ve been lucky to get a few different divisions for both. Due to the efforts of the town, the coaches and the SVYL board we were able to host 2 tournaments and bring in a total of 31 teams from other cities these past two weekends. When that many teams come to our community it helps our community as a whole because they are spending their money and time at our local restaurants and hotels.
There are dozens of names I could mention and shout out, but I’m sure with how many involved I could possibly leave someone out and I would feel awful for that. So instead I will say thank you to all those involved, you know who you are and you should be incredibly proud of all the work you’ve done, these moments will last a lifetime for these children and you’ve made it a great one.
