Thank You, Veterans
This Veterans Day, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served in any branch of the U.S. military.
While Memorial Day is reserved for honoring those who gave their lives in service, today is a day to thank everyone who has worn the uniform. It’s a celebration of their patriotism, love of country, and unwavering willingness to serve.
From all of us at KovaTech, thank you to every member of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy, past and present.
We honor your service.

CrowdStrike Update Causes Global Outage; CTO’s Past at McAfee in Spotlight…
Yesterday, a defective content update from CrowdStrike led to widespread outages on Windows systems worldwide. The issue, which originated from an update to the Falcon cybersecurity defense software, did not impact computers running on Mac and Linux operating systems. CrowdStrike confirmed that the outage was not caused by a cyberattack but rather a defect in the software update itself.
This incident has drawn attention due to the history of CrowdStrike’s CEO, George Kurtz, who was the Chief Technology Officer at McAfee during a similar crisis in 2010. Back then, a faulty antivirus update from McAfee caused a global meltdown of Windows XP computers by mistakenly identifying and deleting a crucial system file, resulting in systems being trapped in continuous reboot loops and requiring extensive manual repairs.
CrowdStrike, a leader in protecting customers from cyber threats, often collaborates with law enforcement and third-party industry experts to investigate and remediate cyberattacks. Despite the current setback, CrowdStrike continues to uphold its reputation in the cybersecurity industry and is actively working to resolve the issue and prevent future occurrences.

Pretty stoked, we just got done a data recovery operation that was turned down by a few chain stores for a customer who thought all her photos of her kids were lost.. never fully trust a removable drive with your pertinent data, always consider either cloud storage, or using multiple devices.

Though it’s been 18 years and so much has changed since then, I still remember that morning that would change the lives of thousands. September 11th was one of the worst days in American history, but it brought out the patriot in all of us. September 12th, we were all united as one, and for a brief moment, we were all New Yorkers, and we all swore we wouldn’t forget. We made a pledge that we would all stand by each other, and the American flag flew on just about every household. That was certainly a pivotal point in our history.
I’ve never forgotten, and I will never forget.
