With the season coming to an end, we are grateful for all the experiences, friendships and memories the year has brought us.

The Midwest Cyclones finished the season with a 40-13-1 record. In WSBL’s AAA division, the team finished in first place with a regular season record of 13-3 and made it to the semi finals in the year end tournament. The team played a week long Ripken tournament in Pigeon Forge taking home the silver bracket championship. They won the Wreck the Diamond Tournament and the JP Sports 42 Legends Tournament while finishing second in the JP Summer Sizzler.

Lots of fun, camaraderie and baseball. The boys played great, got better and built lifelong friendships. Thank you to Midwest Sports Training, Todd and Kim for making dreams come true. Thank you to the parents and families who supported the team at the games, with fundraising and helping with all the tasks that it takes to make the team the success it is. When people say it takes a village, we know. We see it and we don’t take it for granted. Thank you everyone who had a part in this season and supporting the boys.

The Midwest Cyclones finished in first place for the regular season and came up short in the tournament semi finals. A great season nonetheless. We are all very proud of this great group of young men.

Ballers

This weeks player of the week is DJ Clifford. DJ was dominant on the mound. In 8 1/3 innings, DJ allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits striking out 8 and only walking 1. He had a 1.44 ERA over that span with a .720 WHIP. At the plate, he contributed with a .333 batting average.

DJ’s highlight of the week was shutting down the Schaumburg Flyers 13-1. He pitched three innings allowing 1 hit and 1 run.
