200 weekend recap!
Saturday: Jeff and Josh loaded up the car and headed to The Bowl to shake the car down before the big race. The car was on rails and we ended with a well deserved first place and our first of the season which guaranteed us a starting position Sunday!
Sunday: it was a busy morning putting the car back together and hitting the road. We ended up 7th fastest overall in hot laps and got a nice starting position for the heat. We won our heat race and had to redraw for our starting position where we rolled off 6th. The car was fast and we really thought we were a top contender. We raced second for a good chunk of the beginning of the race when we got a flat and had to come in. Unfortunately, we ended up a lap down. We still went back out as we were hopeful to get the βlucky dogβ. Josh drove back to 16th but still a lap down when we ended up getting the lucky dog which put us to the back of the pack again. Josh raced hard and was able to maneuver back up to 6th place! The car is in one piece and we are looking forward to championship night!
We canβt thank Jeff and Jeff for everything they did for our team at the 200 and to Maci and Jackson for helping get everything together at pit road!
Thank you to our car owner Gary, to Jeff for your countless hours at the shop and track and to all of our sponsors for making this dream a reality. Weβre a small crew who gives up a lot of time with our families to make this happen π
