Griffith Park hike - complete ⛰️🤍

From the trails of Ferndell to the views at the top, this one was special.

A steady climb, good conversations, shared effort, and a group that showed up ready to move and be present. Everyone took it at their own pace, but we all got there together, and that’s what makes these hikes what they are.

At the top, we slowed things down for our Gratitude Grounding Moment. A chance to pause, breathe, take in the view, and appreciate the moment.

We wrapped it up with a stretch, resetting the body after the climb and leaving feeling a little lighter, a little stronger, and more connected.

Grateful for:
☀️ Sunny skies and fresh air
⛰️ Trails that challenge us
🤍 A community that continues to show up

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this experience what it was.

More hikes. More movement. More community. Coming soon.

We’re less than a week away from our next Community Workouts Hike ⛰️

This Sunday, we’re heading into Griffith Park for a scenic climb from Ferndell to the Griffith Observatory, one of the most beautiful trails in Los Angeles.

Expect a steady climb, great views, and the kind of shared effort that makes these hikes so special. Along the way we’ll challenge ourselves, enjoy the surroundings, and move at a pace that lets everyone be part of the experience.

At the top, we’ll pause for a Gratitude Grounding Moment, a chance to catch our breath, take in the views, and reflect on something we’re grateful for.

We’ll wrap up the morning with a gentle yoga stretch to release tension and help the body recover after the climb.

A little challenge.
Beautiful scenery.
Great people.

Reserve yours at the link in bio.

We’d love to have you with us this Sunday.

One of the simplest ways I explain the push-up to my clients is this:

A push-up is just a moving plank. If you think about it:
• A forearm plank is a plank
• A tall plank is a plank
• A push-up is simply that plank moving

The same fundamentals apply:
• Ribcage stacked over the hips
• Core engaged
• Glutes active
• Shoulders stable
• The “bucket” stays intact

If the plank breaks, the push-up breaks.

So before worrying about reps, speed, or depth, we focus on owning the position. Once the body understands how to maintain tension and control, the push-up becomes far more efficient, and much safer on the shoulders and lower back.

Of course, there’s more to it than that. But this is where we start.

Master the plank.
Then let it move.

Save this if you’re working on your push-ups, and comment “PLANK” if this perspective changes how you think about the movement.

Most of the work that builds real strength doesn’t happen overnight. It compounds.

One workout.
One rep.
One small improvement at a time.

A little more control in a movement that used to feel shaky.
An extra bit of stability in a single-leg exercise.
A little more confidence when the weight gets heavier.

These moments might seem small in the moment, but they add up.

The rep you focused on today makes the next one better.
The strength you built this week supports the work you’ll do next month. The habits you build now shape the way you’ll move years from now.

Weeks turn into months.
Months turn into years.

And one day you look back and realize that all those small, consistent efforts quietly built something powerful.

A stronger body.
A more resilient mind.
A foundation that supports you in everything you do.

Trust the process. The work compounds!

If you’re looking for guidance or a community to help you stay consistent, I’d love to support you along the way.

This month we’re taking our Community Workout to Griffith Park for a scenic hike from Ferndell to the Griffith Observatory.

We’ll begin along the lush, shaded Ferndell trail and gradually make our way up toward the Observatory, building endurance while taking in some of the best views Los Angeles has to offer.

This hike isn’t about rushing to the top. It’s about moving, enjoying the surroundings, and sharing the experience together.

Once we reach the top, we’ll pause for a Gratitude Grounding Moment, a chance to slow down, catch our breath, take in the view, and reflect on something we’re grateful for.

We’ll wrap up the morning with a gentle yoga stretch to help release tension in the hips, legs, and back after the climb.

A little challenge.
Beautiful views.
Great people.

Join us and experience movement in community.

Strength doesn’t start when the weight moves.
It starts before you move.

In this video, I’m coaching a client on how to maintain engagement in the standing position, especially when holding external load (like a goblet hold).

I tell her to think back to the plank. Same principles:
• Lower abs engaged
• Glutes active
• Legs strong and stable
• Ribcage stacked over hips

Then we layer in:
• Shoulders gently back and down
• Lats engaged
• Lock the ribcage so “the bucket” doesn’t break

Because when load is introduced, this is the position you return to every single time. Yes, it’s tiring. That’s the point.

If you’re not tight, if you’re not engaged, the bucket breaks. And when structure breaks down under load, that’s when injuries happen. We don’t just lift weight. We learn how to own the position first.

Save this if you’re working with goblet holds or loaded movements, and comment “STACK” if you’re starting to feel how everything connects.

You braved the climb. You leaned into the challenge. And you showed exactly what community looks like in motion.

The stairs were no joke. They tested our endurance and mindset. But once we transitioned into Align & Strong, something powerful happened, yoga and strength didn’t feel like two separate practices. They felt connected. Overlapping. Supporting one another.

Alignment. Stability. Breath. Control. Power.

Different approaches. Same foundation.

The best part wasn’t just the workout, it was the energy. The conversations before we started. The laughter between sets. The shared effort. The way everyone stayed present and engaged.

Sunny skies. Warm air. A group willing to show up and try something new.

You are the community. And we’re just getting started.

Stay tuned for more 🤍⛰️

Sunday was special!

What a way to kick off our first Community Workouts event of the year! Getting through those steep stairs is never an easy feat, and everyone person who showed up, embraced the challenge. The Culver City Stairs will humble you… but they’ll also remind you what you’re capable of.

And then we flowed into Aligned & Strong. And it was everything we hoped it would be. Blending yoga and strength training in a way that felt efficient, seamless, and powerful. Not forcing two worlds together, but revealing how connected they already are.

The best feedback we received?

Realizing just how much overlap exists between these two approaches to fitness.
Alignment. Stability. Control. Breath. Strength. Awareness. Different lenses, same foundation.

That’s what this was about. Expanding the way we think about movement.

Grateful for:
☀️ Sunny, warm days outdoors
⛰️ Challenging climbs that bring people together
🤍 A community willing to show up and try something new

Thank you to everyone who came out, moved with us, and made this experience what it was.

YOU are the Community!

Nothing we do exists in isolation.

In this video, I’m coaching a client through a single arm bent-over row, but the foundation is the same deadlift basics we’ve already established.

We start here:
• Feet set
• Bell near the arches
• Hinge down into the bottom of the deadlift
• Feel the hamstrings

Before the row even happens, the base is built.

Then we layer in:
• Opposite hand pushing down to create tension
• Shoulder locked in
• Elbow driving toward the back pocket
• Lat engagement, not just pulling with the arm

This is what makes the movement efficient.
It’s not just “row the weight.”
It’s hinge, brace, lock in, and then pull with intention.

When clients understand the setup, every rep becomes cleaner, stronger, and more connected.

Strength is progressive.
Each lesson builds on the last.

Save this if you’re working on your rows, and comment “HINGE” if you’re starting to see how everything connects.

One week from today, we’re kicking off our first Community Workout of the year, and this one is going to be special.

This event is about having fun, getting outside, challenging yourself, and sharing the experience with good people.

We’ll start by taking on the Culver City Stairs ⛰️
Then transition into Aligned & Strong: A fusion-style class blending mindful yoga movement with intentional strength training.

We’ll flow between yoga-based movements and strength patterns that complement each other, using yoga to explore positioning and breath, then layering in strength to reinforce control and power.

It’s thoughtful.
It’s purposeful.
And it’s accessible to all levels.

Most importantly, it’s a chance to connect. We want our Community Workouts to be the place where conversations happen, friendships build, and movement becomes a shared experience.

RSVP using the link in bio and join us for a morning of movement, connection, and growth.

Can’t wait to see you there!

Community Workouts aren’t just about the workout.
They’re about connection, movement, and showing up, together.

These moments from past hikes are a reminder of why we started:
to move our bodies, enjoy the outdoors, build real community, and create space to breathe, sweat, and reset.

And we’re bringing it back!
✨ This year’s Community Workout events are officially launching soon ✨

Our first event kicks off at the end of the month, and we can’t wait to move with you again.

Keep an eye out for details 👀
Same energy. Same mission. More moments like these.
