At the start of the school year, our high school resource officer, Officer Brett Morava, learned of a student who needed a wheelchair in order to attend class, but was unable to obtain one. Officer Morava started looking for resources, and working with our Community Policing Coordinator Marguerite Walz, they were able to obtain a wheelchair for the student. Because of the efforts of Officer Morava and Ms. Walz, this student is able to attend school! Officer Morava is pictured here with high school assistant principal Cari Sbardella as they prepared to deliver the wheelchair to the student.

Westbrook High School Marching Band absolutely delivered this weekend - a stellar opening performance that sets the tone for an exciting season.

The students in both the marching band and colorguard performed incredibly well at their first show of the year. They’re already sitting just one point away from a four‑star performance in Week 1, which speaks volumes about their preparation, discipline, and talent.

A special shoutout to Christ Vie Mavungu, who led the ensemble through the show with confidence, energy, and musical excellence.

There’s plenty of hard work ahead, but this crew is more than ready for the challenge. Proud of our Blue Blazes.

Westbrook Cross Country had a huge day out on the course - one of those meets where the work shows and the momentum feels real.

Ezra Burke led the charge with one of the most impressive PRs of the season, dropping his time from 18:09 to 17:56. That kind of jump is rare, and it speaks to how locked‑in he’s been.

And he wasn’t alone. The rest of the crew followed with massive PRs - each improving by about 1:30. That’s not just progress; that’s a statement.

A great day for the Blue Blazes, and a big step forward for the whole squad.

Our 2nd Annual Meet at the 50

Please join us on Friday, September 25th at 10:00 AM as the Kindergarten Class of 2039 meets the Senior Class of 2027 at midfield on historic Olmsted Field - a symbolic passing of the torch from one generation of Blue Blazes to the next.

Building administrators, teaching staff, the WHS Band, and community members will come together to celebrate pride, tradition, and the shared purpose that defines Westbrook.

Parents, families, alumni, and our entire community are invited to be part of this special event.
