Halfway through August. đź’Ş

I’m starting to feel good about the progress I’m seeing, even though I’m definitely still sore from putting in the work. Some days feel stronger than others, but that’s part of the process.

This journey has never been about a quick fix. It’s about showing up, pushing myself, building better habits, and seeing what happens when I stay consistent.

I just posted my monthly check-in on Patreon, where I go deeper into the progress, the challenges, and where I’m at right now.

Sometimes I get to be in really beautiful places. Tonight and tomorrow is one of those times.

Don’t make it easy.

Push yourself. Put yourself in uncomfortable positions. That is where you learn, grow, and discover what you are capable of doing.

You should never judge your progress by comparing yourself to someone else. The only person you need to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Still, it feels pretty good when someone asks you to spot them because they believe you are strong enough to help. It also feels good when someone notices you dipping 360 pounds and says something—especially when you know you still had more in the tank.

I still have work to do. I need to keep pushing, stay consistent, and continue getting myself back into shape.

And after a hard workout, nothing hits quite like grabbing a nice, cold Kenetik | Clarity & Focus, Powered By Ketones

Get uncomfortable. Keep pushing. Keep growing.

PUSH YOUR LIMITS. đź’Ş

Some people will dismiss your accomplishment because it happened on a machine.

“Yes, but the machine makes it easier.”

You know what? Yes, it was on a machine. And yes, a machine provides more stability than free weights. But a max effort is still a max effort.

Putting up 345 pounds for five reps is still an incredible accomplishment—and I’m proud of it.

Don’t allow someone else’s opinion to steal the joy from your progress. They didn’t put in the work. They didn’t fight through the difficult reps. They weren’t there on the days you were tired, busy, or tempted to skip the gym.

Celebrate your victories. Keep raising the standard. Keep becoming stronger than the person you were yesterday.

Your progress doesn’t need anyone else’s approval.

Push your limits. Be proud of the work. Keep building—brick by brick. 🧱

Today wasn’t about having the perfect workout. It was about making the decision to still show up.

It had already been a long day at work, followed by basketball open gym. Then it was back to work for a meeting that went longer than expected.

When the meeting finally ended, I almost went straight home.

But that little voice in my head kept saying, “Still show up.”

So I did.

I walked into the gym tired, but I walked out proud—and I’m glad I didn’t give in to the easier choice.

The better version of me isn’t going to be built in one workout or one great day. It’s being built through small decisions like this.

Brick by brick. Day by day. Keep showing up.

Sometimes you don’t need a perfect plan—you just need a reset and a little commitment.

The weight may take time to come off. The progress may feel slow. But you will never regret putting in the work. One day, you’ll look back and thank yourself for starting again.

I’m the poster child for being on track, falling off track, and trying to find my way back. I can run a marathon one day and then somehow not run again for the next 1,000 days.

Today was a “vacation day,” which really just meant I didn’t physically go into work—although I still answered a few emails. Instead, I spent the day tackling some much-needed projects around the house.

I didn’t get everything done, but I finished a few major projects that had been hanging over me. That matters. Plus went to the gym first thing this morning.

A reset doesn’t mean fixing everything in one day. It means choosing to move forward again.

Small commitment. Real effort. Keep going.

What a Perfect Lunch. Steak Sliders! Goal is to take in at least 200 grams of Protein each day. The trick is not to go over your Calories or Carbs or Fats. But also to fuel enough for each day.

There is something about sitting in the sauna after a hard workout that feels like a reward. The heat, the sweat, and the quiet give me time to recover and reflect on the work I just put in.

Today’s workout was tougher than it should have been because I did not fuel my body properly. Yogurt this morning and no real meal afterward was not enough to give me the energy I needed. That is something I have to remember: working hard also means eating enough to support the work.

After the gym, I kept the sweat going by cutting the grass. Now the goal is to recover, refuel, and get out for a nice walk tomorrow morning.

Every workout teaches you something. Today’s lesson: you cannot expect your body to perform if you do not give it the fuel it needs.
