BAYS is a non-profit rec organization serving the young athletes of Maryland's Broadneck Peninsula.

Through the volunteer efforts of our board members, commissioners, and coaches, and in partnership with Anne Arundel County's Department of Recreation and Parks, we offer participation in soccer, field hockey, basketball and lacrosse to the Broadneck Peninsula.

Calling all BAYS volunteers — this night is for YOU! 🖤💛

BAYS simply wouldn’t be BAYS without the incredible people who give their time, energy, and heart to our athletes and programs. Coaches, commissioners, board members, team managers, field helpers, event volunteers and everyone else who steps up throughout the year — we want to celebrate you!

🏆 BAYS VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH — ROBYN COOPER! 🏆

BAYS is incredibly fortunate to have volunteers who don’t just show up for their own teams — they step up wherever they’re needed. Robyn Cooper is one of those people.

Robyn has been a dedicated BAYS soccer coach for multiple teams over multiple seasons, giving countless hours to our players and our soccer program.

But this season, she took “volunteer” to another level. Every Sunday, Robyn showed up to help mow the grass and maintain our fields so our athletes could practice and play on fields that were safe, well-kept, and ready for game day.

It’s the kind of work most people never see — but it makes an enormous difference. Robyn saw something that needed to be done and simply kept showing up to do it, week after week.

That is what going above and beyond looks like, and it’s exactly what makes a youth sports organization like BAYS work.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted and participated in our naming campaign. We had some great options, but Line-O Messi came out on top!

Today marks the first day of our U4 program! First introduced this past spring, U4 is a fun, light introduction to soccer for our youngest players — focused on having fun, getting comfortable with the ball, and exploring the game.

Our U5–U8 players also have the opportunity to take advantage of supplemental Pelota training and ball mastery sessions at no additional cost!

Every Wednesday, players in these age groups can come out for additional instruction from Tempo trainers, helping them develop their skills, confidence, and comfort with the ball.

It’s another way we’re working to give our youngest players more opportunities to learn, develop, and most importantly — have fun playing soccer. ⚽
