Your Wethersfield Red Onion Base Ball Club closes the books on the 2026 baseball season with two great games today against a very tough and formidable club.

We travel north to hilltop Farms in the town of Suffield Connecticut to take on the Wheelmen Base Ball club who are a great group of guys and a formidable team and they always play hard.

So we had our hands full today. But I’ll let you know that your Red Onion baseball club fought hard in the first game and lost a tough one 9 to 8 in the bottom of the ninth inning, but we would not stay down for the day. And the second game of the day we fought hard, never gave up and kept our heads held high as we then took the second game by a score of 16 to 14 in good style .

So in the end, this was a great day with a lot of fun and two good battles on the base ball field with a bunch of good friends on a great and beautiful afternoon.

As you know, the Red Onion BBC are still rebuilding after disastrous mutiny that started to break the team apart, but we’re really starting to come back together again as a group of friends and base ball players.

This year we saw some new additions of great talent and fantastic new players who really fit in and shared good times and good games with us. I’m really looking forward to next year and watching the added development of these new additional players who really have shown us Grit, determination and the joy of playing the game.

So now that the off-season officially starts for the Red Onion baseball club, I will be working with other clubs to start to schedule up another good season in 2027.

We also have a couple of good surprises of some fabulous teams coming in from other states to play us in Wethersfield Connecticut, and we’re looking forward to introducing them to the FAMOUS and historic Wethersfield town to learn about the history and all that Wethersfield has to offer.
And we’re excited to introduce the town of Wethersfield to some new teams new players that should really come in and have some memorable games. So look forward to postings at the beginning of 2027 where I will start to let people know about games, schedules and events coming up for the new year.

In the meantime, if you or somebody out there that has been watching this game and you’re hoping that you might wanna test out the game or maybe you wanna play or become a part then let me know and we could help help you learn over the off-season or develop to learn more about the game of 19 century.
Even if you just wanna be an umpire or if you’d like to be a historian or just a friend of the team there’s many ways to be involved.

This Saturday, your Wethersfield red onion, Base Ball club travels north to hilltop Farms in Suffield Connecticut to take on the mighty Wheelmen Base Ball club

First game starts at 11 o’clock and this will be the last game of the season for the Red Onion Baseball Recruit. Soon after that we will start to make up the schedule for next year’s baseball season of 2027 and more fun to come.

This Saturday in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the first time slot of the Base Ball festival I am looking for at least two more players to join in with the Knickerbocker experience baseball club.

If you will be playing baseball in Gettysburg this year and would like to join our team in the first time slot of the day, let me know and see if we could put you on the team that recognizes early baseball history of 1845 and up till today.

Because the Knickerbocker baseball club is the one that’s credited with putting Base Ball on the track that it is today and developed the game as we know it today. Very important and significant people from the early days of the game like Alexander Cartwright and Daniel Lucius Adams or Doc Adams for Short were significant figures that were so instrumental in developing the game. And that is the focus of the Knickerbocker games we put on.

So not only come out to play baseball, but come out to learn about early history Base Ball and some of the focus we put on with this Knickerbocker experience baseball club.

Over the weekend, your Wethersfield Red Onion baseball club played two games at a base ball festival at hilltop Farms in Suffield Connecticut.

In the first game, we played by the rules of 1864 against an excellent team from Dirigo Maine.

In the second game of the day your Wethersfield Red Onion base ball club played a game by the rules of 1884 against a very tough Westfield Wheelmen Base Ball club to finish off the day.
This was a fun day of base ball with so many great friends and we had a fantastic time on the field playing ball this weekend.

After the troubles, the Wethersfield Red Onion team dealt with the last year coming into this year. It was a very proud moment to have a good team with plenty of players out there really putting forth a great effort and having a great day with so much fun. Seeing A Team grow and get stronger is always very encouraging to know that we’re able to continue the fun in a strong competitive way.

You're Red Onion Baseball club is traveling north to Suffield Connecticut to play two extremely competitive games on Saturday, June 20. The first game will start about 1 o’clock and played by the rules of 1864. Following that game we will have the second game of the day starting about 3 o’clock being played by the rules of 1884.
