[08/04/21]   Attention residents: Hawley Park is CLOSED this afternoon for tree removal/trimming.

[07/30/21]   As of today, 7/30/21, Hawley Park is OPEN. Please take caution around the yellow taped off trees. The walking path, pavilion, court and play structures are available for use.

[07/27/21]   Due to tree damage from Saturday's storm, HAWLEY PARK IS CLOSED until further notice.

Saturday’s destructive storm affected many HVS families, particularly those in the White Lake area. Huron Valley Schools would like to help our families who are struggling as a result of the storm. We are building a needs list that may include food, clothing, home repair and other short-term and long-term needs. If your family was affected by Saturday’s storm, please email a list of needs to [email protected]. We may not be able to provide everything, but we hope we can alleviate some of the frustration and burden our families are experiencing.

For those who are still without power, DTE Community Cares trucks will be distributing free ice and water at two locations today from Noon to 6pm:

White Lake - Home Depot , 9078 Highland Rd

Commerce Twp – Meijer, 1703 Haggerty Rd

Last Update from DTE:
More than 2,000 DTE employees, contractors and out-of-state lineman are working around the clock to restore power after heavy rain and three reported tornadoes ripped through southeast Michigan over the weekend.

The severe weather caused significant damage to the electric infrastructure, impacting more than 150,000 customers and resulting in 1,200 downed wires. Our goal is to restore power to 90% of the customers impacted by end of day today.

Restoration estimates are continuously updated on outage.dteenergy.com as crews are assigned and assess damage.

Please continue to report outages and downed power lines online at outage.dteenergy.com, with the DTE Energy Mobile app, or at 1-800-477-4747. For your safety, stay at least 20 feet away from all power lines and anything they’re in contact with and consider them live.

Hazardous Waste Day is this Saturday, June 5. A couple helpful tips:

➡️ Please have your ID out and presented when you pull up. This event is for White Lake Township residents only; if you are from another community you will be turned away.

➡️ Latex Paint will NOT be accepted. Latex paint can be properly disposed of in the garbage after it is mixed with kitty litter and set in the sun to harden.

➡️ No Drop Offs. You will have to navigate through the line, you cannot leave items for drop off. One car/trip through the line per household.

This Saturday don't forget about Hazardous Waste Day!!!!

The Township Park’s signs are undergoing the process of being amended to clarify the language regarding fi****ms. The Township does NOT allow hunting in the parks, which now all of the signs will clearly state.

[12/10/20]   White Lake Township has received questions regarding fi****ms in parks due to the recent posting of rules signs at Stanley Park. The currently posted park rules signs contain language prohibiting fi****ms in the parks. This does NOT apply to CPL holders. The park rules signs at all Township parks will be modified to prohibit hunting no later December 18, 2020.

White Lake Township supports the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Please direct any questions regarding Township park policies to Staff Planner Justin Quagliata at (248) 698-3300 ext. 177.

🎉Exciting news today, Stanley Park is now open, for pedestrian and bicycling traffic ONLY. There is limited parking off of the Elizabeth Lake Road driveway. We are excited to continue the journey of developing the park for all our residents to enjoy. Please stay tuned into our Parks & Rec Committee meetings for future updates on the park's development plans.

The next Parks & Rec Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 9, via Zoom. You can find the agenda as well as the participation instructions at the link below:

Food delivery service for seniors in the Township 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Free one year membership to Shipt

NEWS RELEASE: Oakland County is providing a free home delivery grocery service membership for senior adults throughout the county that limits their exposure to #COVID19 by allowing them to shop for daily essentials without leaving their homes: bit.ly/3934j8W.

The service is through Shipt, which normally costs $99 annually. It gives #OaklandCounty seniors age 60 and over the convenience and safety of shopping for food, pet supplies and household essentials online and have free same-day home delivery from a variety of local stores. Only the delivery is free. The ordered items must be paid for online using a credit or debit card.

“The number of COVID-19 cases continues to increase locally and we all must do our part to help stop the spread of the virus,” Oakland County Executive David Coulter said. “Many #seniors may be reluctant to leave their homes and may not be getting the fresh and heathy foods they need, especially on colder days. This program allows our senior residents to receive essential food and grocery items safely in their homes without risking the possible exposure to the coronavirus and the flu.”
