Last night we took a big step to getting back to the championship! Big announcement of major acquisitions on the way. For now, let’s look back at our past two titles. Although, It’s been a long time, since we did have a 5 year hiatus and break in action, so, our most recent was 9 years ago! The prestigious MABL A division summer league championship in 2012. For our first title the coveted Queens Alliance Fall Ball back in our inaugural season, 11 years ago, 2010. #tigerball #ripmariano #doitformo

This post comes with an extremely heavy heart. Our dear friend, former captain and beloved teammate Anthony Mariano was involved in a tragic car accident and passed away last night. At this time we wish to send Anthony and the entire Mariano family our deepest condolences. Mariano, was a great catcher and tremendous teammate. He was the backbone of the New York Tigers during our Championship in 2012. A true “gamer” in every sense of the word. He never made a single complaint about playing time or where he batted. He just went out there and did whatever was asked of him to help the team win. There’s many fond memories we have of Anthony aka “Mo” theres too many to share them all. But if we had one to share that meant a lot to our team there’s one that comes to mind. We had a game far out East in the Hamptons vs the Snappers. We lost game one by a mercy rule. It’s a long drive for most of us coming from Queens, so we weren’t looking forward to driving home having been swept. Before game 2 began, we were all pretty down and discouraged—but we all knew we could win if we believed in each other. We took a quick lead early in the first inning but the Snappers had loaded bases with no one out and looked to score. With Mo catching and Matt Napolitano on the hill we got two outs on a pop up and strikeout. The third out came on a low lazy pop fly fouled off toward our dugout. Hustling on every single play, Mariano sprung like a lion from behind the plate tossing his mask off and running toward the ball. It didn’t look like the ball was even close to being one that should have been caught but Mo felt other wise. He jumped into the air fully extending himself to wear he was completely parallel to the floor flying towards the ball! When he made the catch, it was that moment, that play that turned our entire game around!for those that play the game of baseball, it’s known that MOmentum in baseball is a real thing. There isn’t a doubt in anybody’s mind who was a member of the 2012 Tigers that, that play propelled us to not just win the that much needed game but win the entire league championship! RIP Anthony “Mo” Mariano #anthonymariano #pearljam #thedude #mo #mariano

Stay Tuned!!!

The Tigers win vs. the Athletics by the score of 10-1. Tigers improved to 5-4-1 on the season. Check out the photos from this past Saturday evening! #tigerball @ Eisenhower Park

What a game tonight!!!
Tigers win a real great hard fought close game, by the score of 5-4 against one of the winningest franchises in all of Long Island, the Long Island Sundevils! What a classy group of ball players they have it was truly an honor to share the field with them- can’t say it enough, what a game! In the Tigers last at-bat down 4-2 with two strikes third baseman John Galligan blasted a 3 run bomb to dead centerfield! The Tigers snapped a 3 game skid and got a much needed victory. The Tigs are back in action this Saturday afternoon at Wantagh park. First pitch is at 4:30pm! #tigerball

Shots from Saturday afternoon’s double header with the Astros! #tigerball photo cred 📸 @yoodebbie @ Bay Park Baseball Fields

The Tigers dropped both games of a double header to the New York Astros. The Tigers were extremely short-handed, playing with only nine players. Due to being short-handed, Tigers’ catcher, Chris Bauer (pictured above) and Tigers’ pitcher Matt Napolitano were battery mates for both games. The short-handed Tigs have nothing to hang their heads about—taking the undefeated first place Astros to the brink losing game 1 6-5. In game 2, the Tigers clinged to 1-0 lead into the fourth inning, then tied it up again in the fifth 3-3. But the exhausted New York Tigers ran out of steam and lost game 2 8-5 #tigerball ⚾️

Catcher Chris Bauer blasting a two-run double! But it wasn’t enough. The Tigers fell to the Privateers 12-6 last night. The Tigers are back in action this Saturday at Bay Park at 11am against the first place New York Astros!

[07/20/20]   Well that sucked.

Tigers lose 18-2 in an absolute drubbing.

Things went south very quickly when starter Matt Napolitano had to exit in the first inning having pulled a leg muscle. From there the Tigers were scrambling to get to their feet. The Raiders scored 9 in the first inning and never looked back.

The Tigers did manage to scratch two runs across the plate when Christopher Mooney ripped a single down the leftfield line plating two.

It was a rough game and everyone struggled.

The Tigers look to right the ship this Friday at Seaman’s neck park at 8:15pm.

[07/12/20]   Another successful season opener! Tigers beat the Suffolk Orioles at Seaman’s Neck Park, 14-7. More on the game tomorrow. Tonight we dine on the blood of our enemies! Jk we will instead take long showers, icing or shoulders and balls. Game balls. #tigerball
