SKI CLUB LETTER TO PARENTS

Dear Parents:
We wanted to send you an email and tell you a little bit about the Wachusett Ski Club. Ski club is not a “Winter Sports Team” offered through Whitinsville Christian School (although, that is available through a co-op with Nipmuc if you are interested, we can get you information on that too); it is skiing/snowboarding offered at discounted prices. The WCS Ski Club is for all skiers and snowboarders, beginners, intermediate, and advanced. Ski Club is open to grades 3-12, with children in grades 3-5 requiring a parent to attend. Parents attending need to purchase a seat on the bus and ski pass (if skiing/boarding). While the Ski Club does pick up and drop off at the Whitinsville Christian School, it is not directly affiliated with the school. WCS parents, Christina and Keith Menard will be coordinating the club this year.
The WCS Ski Club will be traveling to Wachusett Mountain on Monday’s starting January 6, 2026, and running 6 Mondays (1/5, 1/12, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/23) with possible makeup days after. Please note no WCS Ski Club on 1/19 MLK Jr. Day or 2/16 (Presidents Day). Because the club isn’t an official school activity, we MAY still operate on a snow day because isn’t that the best time to go?
All buses will be leaving from WCS at 2:50 pm and will arrive back at 9:00 pm. The deadline to register with a discount is Monday, November 17, 2025. Prices will increase after November 17, 2025. This is a first come, first serve sign up with 48 spots available for registration, we suggest you sign up as early as you are able. We cannot hold spots. We will register your child only when we receive a bus payment and a registration form.
If your child signs up for a Winter Sport, your son or daughter should be in contact with their respective Coach for the 6 Monday’s they will be absent.. Varsity Basketball is the only sport where WCS Ski Club has a conflict. If your child is signing up for Varsity Basketball, they should not sign up for WCS Ski Club.
So what do you do next?
PRINT and Complete the WCS Ski Club Release Form. (see attached Google Doc link)
Remit bus fee payment. The bus fee is $186 per person. This covers 6 weeks of bus transportation TO and FROM Wachusett Mountain and WCS. Wachusett Mountain requires all students enrolled in the WCS Ski clubt to ride the bus. Exceptions have been made for parents to pick up at Wachusett Mountain at the end of the evening The bus fee will increase to $250 after 11/17
Make all check payments for the bus to Christina Menard and send to the school in an envelope to her attention, these may be dropped off to the Elementary, Middle School or High School Office. Alternatively, you may Venmo -Menard-1
Get your WCS pass: Once we receive your bus payment/registration form and add your child to the roster, we will email you the link and WCS code. You can then go directly to the Wachusett website, enter the code, register and pay in full.
How much are lift tickets?
Lift tickets are mandatory at $165 (some student Bronze Season Passes may still be available through the group at an increased cost).
Do you need to have your own equipment?
You have the ability to add rentals and ski lessons to your purchase at a discounted rate. Ski or Snowboard rentals for 6 sessions is $99. A helmet rental is $27 for the 6 sessions. ***Another option***The Ski Shop Plus off 146 South in RI does offer season long rentals, this allows you to take your equipment home each week, ski at other times or mountains and skip the line at Wachusett each week. They sold out VERY fast last season, so don’t delay!
Can we get lessons?
Lessons for beginners are required. (Limited Space Available) (See Class Level description when ordering the lesson online.) First Time Students CANNOT start after the first program day. If you’re a “First-timer,” it may take one or more sessions to learn the skills needed for lift serviced terrain. 6 week, 1 hour lessons are available for $102, that is less than $17 per lesson!
How much time will you ski or snowboard?
We arrive at 4pm and lessons run from 5-6. We will be departing the mountain at 8pm so there is plenty of ski time after lessons commence. We will also try and post a GPS link for the Motorcoach, so you know when we are close to WCS.
Oftentimes we will have a spare Chaperone pass if any teachers or staff would like to join us! Please let us know.
Season tickets often sell out, and in previous years Wachusett capped student passes. For the best possible chance of joining the WCS Ski Club, we ask that you sign up by October 20th.
Finally, if the opportunity presents itself, we may offer the Pat’s Peak trip again. Ski club members receive a discount.
