Congrats to The Cape Cargo Cubs on winning the Minor League Championship tonight in a hard fought 11-10 battle. Great season for the Venus Cafe Cardinals and the Sila Red Sox also. Great to see the kids competing and getting better throughout the season. Thanks to all our Awesome Coaches on a job well done.
MLB(R) and Chevrolet Want to See Your Home Video!
Record a video of your player throwing out a first pitch from home! This does not have to be done in a practice, game or even a team setting. We encourage your families to do it from home in a safe environment and upload it to the submission site by Thursday, July 30.
Click here to upload!!.....https://baseball.youthsportsclinics.com/pitch/WHIT232682
Be creative, have fun and do it safely from your home. Here are some best practices for creating an awesome video:
1. Tell us your first name, city and state, and what you love about baseball
2. Be sure we can clearly see you throwing the ball (e.g., have someone film you from the front, side, or behind you). Here are some sample videos to provide inspiration:
a. https://baseball.youthsportsclinics.com/pitch-sample/433734727
b. https://baseball.youthsportsclinics.com/pitch-sample/433734715
c. https://baseball.youthsportsclinics.com/pitch-sample/433734699
3. Refrain from wearing any clothing with logos
4. Shoot horizontally
5. Avoid shooting into the sun
6. Make sure to not record on a windy day as we want to be able to hear you!
7. Video should be no longer than 15 seconds
8. Click the link in your email to upload your video
Have fun, be safe and PLAY BALL!
Hello WBSA Families & Friends,
Great news! The Governor has just released the rules for the next phase concerning sporting events.
Sporting Event Rules

In terms of social distancing rules, they will remain the same.
Enter and drop off your child by the benches near the concession stand
Leave the fields by the batting cage
During games, areas will be signed and designated for the players. We will not be using the dugouts for the full team
As a last note, we cannot stress how important it is for parents and spectators to spread out. We request that everyone use all available areas, including beyond the outfields, to watch your players. We appreciate your help and cooperation on this.
Thanks and have a great 4th of July!

We have hand sanitizer and wipes for use by the players and coaches. Coaches and League officers will have marked and will know where they are. All Players must have their own helmet. If you can’t get a helmet for your child, WBSA will provide one. Players are also urged to have their own bats. All players must use their own glove and batting gloves. No sharing of these. All Players must have their own water bottle, thermos, and any personal food items to be kept with their equipment in their dedicated fence section area. Please inform coaches of any medical issues prior to first practice.
Please have your kids use the bathroom at home right before they go to practices. Bathrooms will be open if needed. Rules state that bathrooms should be used as little as possible.
We want All Players and Coaches to remain healthy, so please be smart and respectful of Our Whitman Baseball community. We will ask All Players and a Guardian (Parent) to sign the rules for 2020 as we will Strictly enforce the Rules and Restrictions.
We will have some additional game rules and regulations when the Governor signs off in the next few weeks. Parents must also adhere to Social Distancing and we will enforce this. All the fields have plenty of space and area for parents or guardians to watch. Each fence section is over 6 feet apart, so we ask you to use these separate sections for each family.
We are excited to start and appreciate the Board of Health, Town Officials, and our Board of Directors that worked very hard to get us back to playing Whitman Baseball this year. We know this is a lot but we want to make sure we are thorough and professional as we conduct this important and very much needed 2020 Baseball Season.
Please reach out to Julie Cappelletti ([email protected]) if you have questions about Safety.
Thanks and Play Ball!

Hey Everyone,
We’re letting everyone know we will finalize teams by this Friday. After that’s complete, coaches will reach out about procedures and practices, which should start as early as next week for Juniors & Majors/Minors. Farm will start after that.
As a note, we ask you to check your child’s registration to verify your child’s age so we can place them in the correct age bracket. Just log into wbsall.com, choose your account, and click your child’s name to verify their information. Also, if you have not paid yet, please do so so we can pay for uniforms and equipment.
If you have questions, please reach out to John Graham.
We look forward to getting the season started!
Thanks,
WBSA

Hello WBSA families,
Get excited to get started playing baseball! We’ve worked with the Whitman Board of Health to put together a detailed plan to ensure our players’ and families’ safety during practices. We’ll be updating this plan in phase 3 to cover game rules.
WBSA Covid 19 Rules and Regulations for Whitman Little League Phase 2 (Practices)
We feel these measures will keep our players and families safe during baseball activities and will require strict adherence to all guidelines for all coaches, players, and families.
We’ll be starting practices for Juniors and Majors/Minors June 17th. We’re planning to start games on June 29th.
The Farm program will kick-off a week later, June 24th.
Coaches will reach out to their players before practices start.
Update on Instructional Baseball
We’ve met as a board tonight and decided that in the best interest of safety, we’ve voted to cancel the Instructional Baseball season for Spring 2020. We’re hoping to host at least one baseball clinic later in July for our Instructional players. We’ll coordinate with the Whitman Board of Health to determine when and if this will happen.
It was a tough decision to make, but we feel it is best for our Instructional players’ safety.
If you’re unsure about having your child play baseball this season, we understand. That’s why we’d like to inform everyone that if you would like to roll over your child’s registration until next season, you can lock in the registration fee you’ve paid for the 2020 spring season, even if your child is moving up to a higher level program next season. This also applies to Instructional Baseball.
Please reach out to [email protected] by Saturday to inform us if your child will not take part, as we’ll be putting teams together this weekend.
If you have already signed up for the 2020 Spring Season, other than for Instructional Baseball, your children will be assigned to a team. Coaches will be in touch soon.
If you would like a refund, please reach out to [email protected]. For Instructional Baseball, we’ll automatically roll over your child’s registration to the next season unless you request a refund.
If you have questions, please reach out to John Graham ([email protected]).
We’ve been working hard through this crisis to put together a great program for our kids, and we’re thrilled to start up Whitman Little League!
Thanks,
WBSA
