We had a fun day today cantering in the outdoor. Hard to believe it’s December…. He is just the quietest 4yo ever and picks stuff up quickly.

On Saturday morning, Lindsay came and got me from the field really early and put me in the trailer. In a couple hours, we made it to another big field with lots of trailers and other horses. Lindsay rode her other horse first while I stayed tied up with some hay and my buddy, Gracie. After a while she came back and tacked me up to go ride. She took me out into a field with a few other horses and then took me over a funny looking, wooden jump. I wasn't so sure about it, but Lindsay assured me that it was okay so I went over it. She was so happy with me! Then she went over it a couple more times before she took me to another jump kind of similar. I went over it and she let me go all around and jump some other jumps all over a huge open field. I went over everything and really enjoyed it. Then we loaded up in the trailer and we were only in the trailer for a little bit before we got to a barn to spend the night in. The next morning we loaded up again and drove back to the big field. Lindsay got on me first and warmed me up for a dressage test. I hadn't really done any dressage ever, so Lindsay was very happy with me. Later she got back on me and jumped me. I was a little unsure of the fillers, but Lindsay told me to jump them, so I did. Lindsay was so happy and couldn't have asked for a better weekend from me. This week she's been asking me to have a lower head and bend a little. I'm slowly getting it and Lindsay is so happy with my improvements. I can't wait until the Retired Racehorse Project in October!

Yesterday, Lindsay loaded me up on a trailer for the first time since they got me. I went right on and they told me I was such a good girl! Then I was in the trailer for a little bit before I got to another barn with lots of other trailers and horses. I got tied up and got some hay. Lindsay was so happy to see that I stood at the trailer calmly, even though I didn't have a buddy tied up next to me. Lindsay rode another horse and then she rode me out in a big open field with a couple other horses. She told me I was being such a good girl. She rode me all around until the little blonde lady came over and told Lindsay to take me over the crossrail. I jumped it a couple times and then the little blonde lady said to go over an oxer. I had never seen one before and was a little unsure of jumping over two rails at once but Lindsay said it was okay, so I did it. She was so happy with me! After she was done riding me, she took me back to the trailer and took my saddle off. She gave me some cookies and water and then left. After she rode another horse, she packed up and loaded my buddies and I up. Then she took us home and I was happy to be home. My buddy, Gracie, was calling for me from the pasture. I had such a great day! Lindsay says we will be posting more over these next few months while she gets me ready for the Retired Racehorse Project.

Well, Olivia keeps managing to hurt herself, but Dr Kiser finally cleared her yesterday. Today, Miss Olivia couldn't figure out why the trees and poles tried to eat her, but Lindsay stayed on and no one got hurt!

Olivia and Lindsay did their first show yesterday. She is so calm and willing. Can't wait to see what they do this year...

Lindsay and I are so excited! The RRP officially listed us as a junior competition team! Our mom just says she booked us a spot at the Kentucky Horse Park campground! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! We worked on jumping a small course on Saturday and that trainer, Dehlia, seemed to like what we were doing. She's still a little scary and confuses me sometimes, but I'm starting to figure it out.

My new humans rescued me from a really scary place. I was not sure exactly where I was or why I was there, but I was sure happy to get on that trailer and leave with them. When I first got here, I could hear them talking about how pretty I was, but that I was too skinny and needed time to settle in. I'm not really sure what that means, but they keep giving me extra grain and lots of hay, so I'm not going to ask too many questions. There's also this little person named Lindsay that has started riding me and keeps talking about all this training that we are going to do for some competition in a few months. She seems to be conspiring with this small blonde woman who has us ride in circles in the indoor arena. I'm not really sure what they are trying to get me to do. I hear them say that I need to relax and work off leg pressure. What in the world does that mean? All I know is run as fast as I can. Sometimes, I just slow down or stop, because I don't know what to do. Every time I think I'm doing good, though, I throw out a little buck. That does not seem to make the blonde lady very happy, but I do it anyway. Lindsay just laughs when I do that, so I think she's pretty cool. There are also these weird things in the arena. At first, I thought they might kill me, but I don't mind them now. Lindsay likes to go through them every time we go into the arena. Here is a funny picture she took of me. Don't I look pretty in my red cooler?
