The Kidzcope Good Grief 5K & 1 Mile Race Event promises a morning of fun while providing hope for grieving families. Honor the memories of loved ones and celebrate life by participating in a delightful morning 5K or 1 mile route beginning and ending at the Waterfront. Awards will be made to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K. Age groups are: 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,
40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older. All youth participants will receive a finishers medal. Additionally, the overall top 3 male and female finishers will receive gift certificates toward new running shoes courtesy of Go Run. Proceeds will advance the mission of Kidzcope, a nonprofit, non-affiliated organization which provides support and a comforting environment to grieving children and their families. The only organization of its kind in south central Kansas, volunteers lead group activities and through play and art therapy children learn there is hope after the loss of a loved one.
