Fabulous weekend was had by all - schooling & competing at the Tinwhistle mini event at Eclipse Farms. We had some great results but I'm most proud of the sportsmanship and horsemanship I saw this weekend. Can't thank Blue Sidebottom, Heather Jones and all the volunteers enough for these opportunities! & Thank you to Ellen Sadler & Katie Potter for taking extra time at the end of a very long day to make sure Waldo got home safely. The good pics below are by the talented LC Photography.

Thank you MaryFran for the new panels! Only appropriate that she got to test them out first ⚓️

If we can just get the rain that’s forecasted for the next few days, the jump field will be perfect 🤞

8 yr old, 16.2, TB gelding with great sporthorse bloodlines including AP Indy & Unbridled. Great brain, big bones. Hacks out in company or alone. Always the same horse, at home, on a trail ride or at a show. Sweet personality, good ground manners, good for farrier, trailers well. Jumps small courses with ease, natural lead changes are there but still a bit of a work in progress. Versatile, super mellow. Professional training level dressage 6 months. Owner doesn't have time so hasn't been in a consistent program. Went to his first ever show with a kid from the barn who had only sat on him a handful of times (& jumped him once) and he placed in each class (see video). Mild cribber, prefer home with plenty of grass turnout 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

Liz & Karen taking the time to give their young horses positive & relaxing experiences

06/01/2020

So excited to start resuming a little bit of normal - we took a couple horses to the Happenstance schooling show yesterday morning. Liz overcame her nerves & had very relaxed, confident rounds. All the ground work she has been doing with Leo over the past several weeks paid off big in the easiest travel for him yet (of course he probably loves my new trailer too ;) Eisele stepped up with a total catch ride and gave Oliver the best first time horseshow experience! Thank you to the Happenstance crew for hosting a well ran show under the new protocols!

We had a super fun school in the field today working on putting courses together. So thankful to get to work with such a great, supportive group of riders!

Gymnastic day was great fun - all had super rides!! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the surprise summer day. The ground was absolutely perfect!

Obituary of Wayne Gordon Lyle | All-States Cremation - Centennial

I named my business in honor of my dad & I’m very thankful he had a chance to know it. My dad’s navy service meant a lot to him, when we were growing up he would wake us up on weekend mornings with the reveille bugle melody ending with the call, “Reveille! Reveille! All hands On Deck!” - there would be a list of chores we had to do before leaving the house, it wasn’t very cool at the time, but everything he did in raising us instilled a sense of integrity and a strong work ethic that has served both me and my brother well, making our lives so much better and easier. When I was contemplating making this change a few months ago, my dad was incredibly supportive, surprisingly because it’s clearly not the safe choice, but as sick as he was at the time, I think he saw the value in taking the chance while you can and doing what makes you happy & he knew I would work for it.

"Sitting chilly" is a term we use to describe a rider who is so perfectly poised and balanced that the horse is given the most possible freedom to do its job.

Bill Steinkraus had a famous saying that the hardest thing for a rider to do was to do nothing---

This photo of Bernie Traurig exemplifies both----Sitting chilly, and doing nothing to impede his horse in the slightest possible way.

It is a skill that few riders master, but it is one of those elusive goals that riders seek.

Barney

Barney is ready to show his next rider the ropes as his current owner is leaving for college soon. He is a 16yr old, TB, about 15.2h, very sweet personality, easy to have around the barn, no vices. Great horse to learn on, happy to do his job, same horse off the property as at home. He has been a hunter his entire life but we are showing him all kinds of new things, xc schooling, skinnies, angles & he just says okay! He is super quiet (definitely a kick ride) and willing (will jump from anywhere w/ me & add that extra step w/ his kid), easy lead changes both ways. Very reasonably priced @ 5k. Located in St. Louis, MO. Please contact Jana Lyle ([email protected]) or Karen ([email protected]) for more info.

10/21/2019

Can't get over what a successful outing every single team had today xc schooling at Eclipse Farms - the first time for a few!! Can't thank Heather & Lisa enough for letting us come out!

Unfortunately I am not going to be available the next few weekends due to commitments I made prior to my career change (or retirement as my husband and co-workers are referring to it) – but I will have availability during the week starting on the 17th – I can do lessons or rides Tuesday, Thursday and Friday anytime after noon and Wednesday evening next week. Please let me know if you would like to schedule a time. I am also planning on going to the h/j schooling show at Ridgefield on Saturday, the 21st – there are lots of opportunities for all levels, if anyone is interested in going, please let me know!
