πŸ€ OVERSPEED TRAINING

πŸ’‘The purpose of this type of training is used to expose the nervous system to faster firing rates in the muscle tendon systems.

🧠 The bands are used to systematically decrease the weight of the athlete during plyometric exercise

βœ… This environment allows for

- Faster firing rates
- Reduced ground contact times

πŸ”₯ Studies show that with this method improvements in jumping ability are the result of increased velocities at takeoff not maximal force production

πŸ’₯ Both are needed to jump high to an extent. The athlete who can produce more force in less time will perform better

🀯 Contrast training is a great way to train both components. By doing a heavy compound lift followed by a plyometric of a similar movement pattern, an athlete can greatly improve their performance abilities

πŸ‘ The posterior chain (back/glutes/hamstrings/calves/ankles) is absolutely vital in terms of overall development and increasing performance/health for ALL! By training this system regularly you can reduce injury and boost your game πŸ’₯

βœ… The large majority of clients I see are quad dominant and many have lost the ability to even hinge properly.

🧠 The GHD (Glute Ham Developer) is a staple piece of equipment in a quality gym, like my new home here ! We can really focus on the hamstring musculature and core as a means to help develop the posterior chain further.

πŸ”₯ I love this movement as an auxiliary exercise after the main compound movement of a lower body focused day.

🧠 As an athlete gets stronger, they can apply more force with a more positive angle. This leads to them being faster off of the line in their respective sports because they will be able to produce greater forces in a reduced amount of time. Performance gains in their sport are ⬆️

The biggest factor in what drives weight loss is actually being in a caloric deficit for a sustained period of time. Weight fluctuations are completely normal and driven by many factors.

All the emotions forgot in a year...

I remember a year ago being fired. I remember not knowing what was next for me in my career as a Performance Coach. At the time I didn’t fully understand the why, but now things have come full circle.

My whole life I’ve lived to inspire others and help them get to their own next level using fitness as my medium of betterment.

I’ve made mistakes, had to learn a lot of lessons, but most of all I made it a whole year of running my own company.

Stevens Training and Performance is just getting started and I can’t wait to show you all what I’m gonna do in year two ✌🏻.

Far too often, I see athletes and other gym goers use the same weights, same rep schemes, and never see any progress in their lifts πŸ€”

By training at different velocities and percentages along the force velocity curve a person can adapt and learn how to produce their force and strength faster πŸ’₯

Here I am training at around 55% of my best clean. In doing so, I can hone in on both maximal power output and technique 🧠

As a result, my rate of force development will increase. The best athletes are those who can produce the most amount of force in the shortest amount of time 🚨🚨🚨

🧬 This method of training involves pairing a heavy resistance exercise with a high velocity movement of the same movement pattern.

πŸ’ͺ🏼 I am pairing Trap Bar DL with Broad Jumps as they both involve a great amount of hip flexion/extension.

βœ… Due to post activation potentiation from the heavy resistance exercise we can jump higher, run faster, and produce more power.

βœ… The goal in using this method is create lasting changes in the force potential of the muscle signifying an improvement in performance
