π‘The purpose of this type of training is used to expose the nervous system to faster firing rates in the muscle tendon systems.
π§ The bands are used to systematically decrease the weight of the athlete during plyometric exercise

This environment allows for
- Faster firing rates
- Reduced ground contact times
π₯ Studies show that with this method improvements in jumping ability are the result of increased velocities at takeoff not maximal force production
π₯ Both are needed to jump high to an extent. The athlete who can produce more force in less time will perform better
π€― Contrast training is a great way to train both components. By doing a heavy compound lift followed by a plyometric of a similar movement pattern, an athlete can greatly improve their performance abilities
