Nice work with the social distancing today Whitetail Resort 🙄 So glad you trimmed the fat and let go of all of your competent employees. You know, the ones who know how to keep your lift operating on one of the busiest weekends of the winter when there’s snow on the ground in DC. But go ahead and add some more ticket checkers when there’s a 2hr wait for rentals. ,

Epic Local Pass
Its official, Peak Resorts are now included in the Epic Pass. The Epic Local Pass provides unlimited days to the former Peak/Snowtime resorts. The $719 price tag is still hard to swallow but at least they're not claiming Hunter and Mt. Snow justify the increase. Let's keep on Vail and maybe we can get back to our more reasonable 3 mountain pass next year. Prices go up Oct.13

3X Multi-Visit Program | Whitetail Resort Live
Attention weekend warriors, if you were disappointed in the price increase on your season pass, here’s a decent alternative. You could still get 9 days at the cost of your 2018 pass and 12 days for less than that garbage Peak Pass they tried to force on us. If you’re planning on more days it’s not so great but you never know how one of our Mid-Atlantic winters is going to go.

Epic Pass
Last chance to get the Epic pass at the low price. It’s good at all Peak Resorts this winter. I think the Epic Local is the way to go but read the fine print first, it’s not clear if there are any restrictions for former Peak Resorts. Hopefully Vail will listen to its customers and off us a PA only pass next year.

No Off Season For Peak Resorts' Jesse Boyd
From Forbes interview with Jesse Boyd;
"Q: How has the ski industry changed over the years in terms of customer loyalty and customer satisfaction?
A: Customer loyalty is a big part of growing and maintaining our business. For Peak Resorts, customer loyalty starts with our season pass offering, the Peak Pass. We wanted to offer a pass that was affordable and gave our guests great value, while was also being flexible and easy to understand. Our Peak Pass offers unlimited skiing and riding at all of our resorts all season long, which in the case of Mount Snow and Wildcat can start as early as October and run as late as April or May. Our Peak Pass holders are our most important and loyal guests."
I know a few hundred people who think that the Peak Pass is a slap in the face to loyal customers. G*Y Jesse

The recent additions to the Epic Pass highlight, again, the massive consolidation occurring across the ski industry, which is driving up rents and turning mountain towns into company towns
04/09/2019
Another one about to bite the dust. Ski area consolidation continues in PA.
"The leadership team had a meeting with us this morning to notify us that Camelback is in the process of being acquired by the KSL and Alterra companies. KSL is a resort and hotel company and Alterra owns numerous ski resorts throughout the country, including Aspen, Stratton, Squaw, Mammoth, Steamboat, Winter Park, Snowshoe, and several others. The other main action this accomplishes is to make the mountain and the hotel part of one company." From an e-mail to Camelback Staff
Considering Jack Frost is a neighbor resort this has potential to significantly reduce the demand for the Peak Pass in the Poconos as the Ikon Pass becomes a better local option.

Some questions about Peaks announcement: were these upgrades planned before purchase (seems likely as they're starting this week and I'm pretty sure those fan guns are on back order); why are you treating the 3 resorts like one entity (probably because this was all arranged before the October sale); and do you get to $3.5 million by grossly overpaying family members as employees on the project (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/peak-resorts-inc-nasdaq-skis-143435618.html)?
