We are excited to share that this year’s Fall 5K t-shirt design will spotlight a trident maple (Acer buergeranium) bonsai. With striking tri-lobed leaves, spectacular fall color, and uniquely trained shapes, trident maple bonsai are stunning emblems of autumn at the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum.

The Fall 5K & Festival will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 8:30 AM. Registration currently costs $50, and increases to $55 after we reach 450 registrants. When you sign up for the race before Thursday, September 24th, you are guaranteed a race t-shirt with each adult registration. After that, t-shirts are available while supplies last. Registration is free for children under 13 years old, but youth t-shirts must be purchased separately. Get to know Team Hayden from Alexandria, VIRGINIA!

Team Hayden joined the Mowat-Wilson Syndrome community when he was 10 months old. As the youngest of four children and a proud military child (Go Army!), Hayden turned six this August and calls Virginia home—his third state thanks to his family's military journey. In addition to MWS, Hayden is blind and is continuing to work hard toward milestones many take for granted, including standing and walking independently. Though he is nonverbal, Hayden ensures his voice is heard by those who know and love him.

Our family has participated in Run for MWS events across Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Maryland, and we are honored to continue raising awareness and support for individuals and families affected by MWS. Team Hayden runs in celebration of Hayden's strength and as a reminder of joy.
