⛸️ SKATE SWAP IS COMING TO ORIENTATION! ⛸️

Let's face it - skates and competition dresses can get EXPENSIVE. Especially when kids seem to grow two sizes the second you buy them something. So we’re bringing a little sharing magic to WFSC!

👗 HAVE SKATES OR DRESSES TO RENT OUT?
If your skater has outgrown a perfectly good pair of skates or a dress they no longer need, you can make it available to another WFSC skater for the season!

⛸️ NEED SKATES OR A DRESS?
This is your chance to find quality skating gear without buying brand new! You may find exactly what your skater needs while saving some money along the way.

And the best part? WFSC helps protect the rental arrangement so both sides can feel more comfortable with the process. 💙

✨ Coach Spotlight:: Meet Coach Emerald! ✨

This week we’re excited to introduce Coach Emerald, our Learn to Skate Director! 💙⛸️

Emerald began figure skating at just 4 years old and started coaching as a Junior Coach around age 15. Inspired by the older skaters who took the time to skate with her, she wanted to create those same positive experiences for the next generation.

Today, she loves helping skaters—including her own daughters—learn new skills, build confidence, and fall in love with the ice. 💙

Her advice to our skaters is simple: enjoy your time on the ice and remember why you love the sport, especially on the hard days.

Thank you, Emerald, for everything you do for our skaters and for helping make the Williston Figure Skating Club such an amazing community. We are so grateful to have you as one of our Coaches! 💙

From summer training to skating season—we’re ready! ⛸️❄️

What a great summer of building strength, balance, stability, coordination, flexibility, and explosive power off the ice! Our skaters worked hard each week, challenged themselves, learned new exercises, and built skills that will carry directly onto the ice this season.

We’re so proud of the effort and progress we saw all summer long. Now it’s time to take all that hard work back to the ice! ❄️⛸️

We’re also excited to continue our Off-Ice Dry Land Training throughout the season with our Advanced skaters, continuing to build stronger, more well-rounded athletes both on and off the ice! 💪

A huge thank you to Wicked Tough Fitness for giving our skaters a great space to train!

Today we're celebrating one of our wonderful Board Members, Chelsey Crozier!

Chelsey, thanks so much for all the time, talent, and support you give to the Williston Figure Skating Club. We really appreciate everything you do to help make a great experience for our skaters and their families, and we’re so glad to have you on the team.

We hope your birthday is filled with lots of laughter, time with loved ones, and all the things that make your day special. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

⛸️ INVESTING IN OUR COACHES = INVESTING IN OUR SKATERS! ⛸️

This past weekend, WFSC coaches traveled to Minot for some valuable on-ice coach training with Barb, Director of the Magic City Figure Skating Club!

We spent time learning and working on:
⭐ What judges are looking for as skaters advance
⭐ Timing, quality and details in USFS test patterns
⭐ “Old-school” on-ice exercises that are still incredibly effective
⭐ Identifying and correcting bad habits before they become bigger issues
⭐ New ways to help our skaters build stronger, cleaner skating skills

At Williston Figure Skating Club, we believe growing our program also means continuing to grow our coaches. Investing in education and hands-on training gives our coaching team more tools to bring back to the ice and ultimately helps our skaters continue progressing! 💙⛸️

✨ Head Coach Spotlight: Meet KayCee Hurley! ✨

This week we're excited to introduce our Head Coach, KayCee Hurley, whose passion, experience, and dedication help make our club such a special place! 💙⛸️

From skating on a frozen lake in northern Minnesota at just 3 years old to competing at Junior Nationals and passing both Senior Gold tests, KayCee's skating journey has been filled with incredible accomplishments and unforgettable experiences.

Today, she is passionate about helping the next generation of skaters build confidence, overcome challenges, and create lifelong memories—whether that's performing in the spring ice show, competing for the first time, or simply discovering a love for skating.

Thank you, Coach KayCee, for everything you do for our skaters and for helping make the Williston Figure Skating Club such an amazing community. We are so grateful to have you as our Head Coach! 💙

⛸️ SKATE SHARPENING THIS WEEKEND! ⛸️

Our WFSC coaches and advanced skaters are heading to Minot this weekend for specialized training!

While they’re in Minot, we’re also offering skate sharpening for our members!

⛸️ $15–$20 per pair

If your skates are due for a sharpening, send them along with our coaches and we’ll get them taken care of while they’re there!
