Skip the mums this season and plant our native asters instead. The bees will thank you! 🐝

Want to help out even more pollinators this fall? You can also include goldenrods and native grasses that provide food sources and cover.

We cover a few more native plants for that fall feel ⬇️

Talk about a garden glow-up! ✨

This lovely garden border is looking excellent after a recent summer check-in. Tucked in is a mix of native shrubs, perennials and grasses, a few ornamental evergreens for structure and some existing perennials. The client has done amazing job keeping up with the initial maintenance and the pollinators are happy too.
A win-win! 🐛🐝

The rock saga continues… hidden completely under the lawn and features a healthy layer of concrete. Perhaps used for a patio? I’ll never know, just keep digging.

A simple tip to help figure how many plants you need for an area.

📏 Measure your garden bed area

📝 Grab some graph paper and plot out the bed dimensions. If it’s a smaller area, 1 square = 1ft, larger areas you can double up 1 square = 2ft and so on.

✍️ Keeping mature plant sizes in mind you can layout the garden using dots, circles, squares, symbols or even different colors.

👩‍🌾 Count the shapes.

🌱 Visit your favorite nursery with confidence!

Some other pro tips 👇

- Circular/Oval shaped beds, you can measure the diameter from top to bottom and left to right.
- Free flowing beds? You can break them down into simpler shapes in order to plot. Think squares and rectangles!
- Using smaller herbaceous plants? Keep it simple and go with 1x1ft spacing for a full look.

And most of all remember, you got this! 🕺

Happy Pollinator Week!

Did you know that approximately 75% of all flowering plant species need the help of animals to move pollen from plant to plant for fertilization? This includes our food harvests!

Some simple ways to support our pollinators include: creating a pollinator friendly garden, choosing to plant native plants, leaving the leaves during your garden cleanups, and avoiding pesticides.

How are you celebrating ?

Just a little garden editing… Who says you have to start fresh?

Taking a look back at this front island bed completed earlier this season. We moved and divided a few existing native plants, removed invasives, w**ds, and added a few more native plants to fill in. All topped with a healthy layer of natural bark mulch and edging to keep the lawn crews happy. ☀️🌱🐛

A silly summary of our busy, but fulfilling planting projects this spring. 😅

We just want to take a moment and say thank you. For every message, every referral, every person that has welcomed us into the garden with open arms. Something special happens when you choose native plants. The specialist bees find their way back, maybe you’ve seen new wildlife this season, and your garden finally feels alive. Thank you for trusting us to create that for you, our wildlife thanks you too.
