Our first trip to the dual team state championship didn't go the way we hoped, but the girls fought all the way until the end.

We fell by a score of 5-0 to Myers Park to finish our season 20-1. It tied for the most wins in program history!

Thanks to our 3 seniors - Kate Bennington, Kennedy Lawrence and Mia Neuwith - for being awesome leaders.

Braelyn became just the fifth player in program history to make the singles semifinals. The others were Bobbi Guthrie (1993), Emily Kohl (1997, 1998), Kaitlin Burns (2006, 2007) and McKayla Zupan (2011).

The only other freshman out of that group was Bobbi Guthrie, who went on to win a pair of state titles at Broughton.

Braelyn played an incredible semifinal match, but fell 6-2, 6-3 to senior Devin Gilroy of Hough. We are so proud of the way she competed!!

8A EAST CHAMPS!!!

Incredible singles performances from our entire top 6 gave us a 5-1 victory over Broughton in the 8A East final.

Freshmen twins Braelyn Roberson (6-1, 6-0 at No. 1) and Zannah Roberson (6-3, 6-2 at No. 2) put us up 2-0.

Fellow freshman Kenzie Le saved a match point and eventually earned a thrilling 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 win at No. 5.

At No. 6, sophomore Allie Sauer also rallied from a set down for a 6-7(4), 6-0, 10-6 victory.

The clinching point came from another freshman - Zoe Ten Brink - at No. 3 by a score of 7-5, 6-3.

Senior captain Kate Bennington had an excellent performance at No. 4, but came up short 6-3, 5-7, 10-4.

We will play in the state championship match for the first time ever on October 31 at 9 a.m. against Myers Park. It will be played at Burlington Tennis Complex.
