North Carolina Courage advances to the USL Southern Conference Championship after their 3-0 win against FC Miami City.

Come out tomorrow, July 8th 6pm at WakeMed Soccer Park and support these ladies as they take on Tampa Bay United!! Good luck and show them how it’s done here in NC.

Former UNCW Goalkeeper Sydney Schneider will be representing Team Jamaica in the 2023 FIFA World Cup!!!!! Congratulations Sydney. We are rooting for you!

The Ashley women’s soccer team plays for the 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP vs Ardrey Kell at UNC Greensboro, 7pm.

The game will be streamed live at Buffalo Wild Wings or stream it at home on the NFHS Network.

We want to congratulate Coach Mark Briggs, former Hammerheads player and Hammerheads professional team coach, on being recognized as the USL Championship Coach of the Month for April!!

Sacramento Republic FC also went undefeated for the month of April, making Coach Briggs the head coach with the most wins in club history.

The Greater Wilmington Area 2023 Hall of Fame Weekend is almost here and we are especially excited about this one! Honorees are selected from a long list of athletes, coaches and other personnel who have had a large impact on the advancement and history of sports in the Wilmington Area. Out of the four that were selected there is one that is very near and dear to the soccer community, Al Pastore. Al was one of the original owners and founders of the Wilmington Hammerheads pro soccer franchise. He even coached the team for the first three seasons before his career as an assistant at Duke. While coaching at many different places he always thought of Wilmington as home. Later coming back to coach at New Hanover High School and always helping out with the Hammerheads Youth program. Coach Dewan Bader is “Pleased to see Al Pastore inducted into the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame. He was a great man, coach, and ambassador of the game of soccer at all different levels. It was an honor to be a part of that first Wilmington Hammerheads team, and then to work with him again at Triangle Futbol Club.”
