About Watersmith Kayaking

Since 2008, Watersmith Kayaking has dedicated itself to providing
the very best on-water experiences for our customers, whether they are new to the sport or are experienced kayakers. We take a thorough, professional approach to everything we do, which includes:

Tours: we pride ourselves on our knowledge of every aquatic environment in southeastern North Carolina. Our tours acquaint you with ecosystems from the extraordinarily diverse salt marshes to primordial black water creeks lined with the oldest trees in eastern North America. Kayaks are a great way to explore remote byways and we love to traverse these less-traveled waters with our kayaking friends old and new. Instruction: Watersmith instructors take their teaching responsibilities seriously. We want to make sure that our students master the skills involved at each level so they can be safe and confident on the water. Teaching beginners is one of our staff’s most satisfying and enjoyable endeavors. We offer classes for first-time paddlers, navigators, sea kayakers, surf kayakers, rollers and trip leaders. Consulting: Kayaking’s rapidly rising popularity has created a demand for knowledgeable kayak professionals who can advise businesses, governments, clubs, camps and other organizations that wish to offer programs in this water sport. Watersmith’s wide range of consulting services enable these organizations to provide safe, effective and enjoyable kayaking activities. Our services include training of guides and retail sales staff, facility design, equipment specification and program development.

Howdy Folks!
Back in 2017 we decided to put Watersmith Kayaking on the back burner to pursue another opportunity. The world is very different today. Without any promotion or even a website we are regularly doing tours simply by referral and word of mouth. Due to this increasing demand and the great pleasure we have for taking people kayaking we are "restarting" Watersmith Kayaking. We look forward to seeing you and all the new folks, On The Water.
As before, most of our tours and classes will be done by request with a few, very special events scheduled. Our first scheduled tour will be our old favorite, The Three Sisters Swamp on the Black River.

Join us on the Black River for our Fall tour of the Three Sisters Swamp (Section 6). This glorious place is home to hundreds of Bald Cypress trees ranging in age from 1,000 to possibly 2,000 years old!
This tour is significantly long (5.5-6 hours) and moderately difficult. Cost is $100.00 per person. The date and time are Dec. 8th at 0800. To register for this tour contact us at 910 443-3345 or [email protected]
