🏁 GRUNDY TECH SEPT 4 🏁

The integrity of our tech procedure is very important to the Midwest Pavement Midget Series. We do not ever want to disqualify a car, but it is important to adhere to the rules we operate under. Even worse, we would never wish to disqualify a car that’s actually legal.

Following the September 4th race there were 2 cars disqualified. First the 88T was disqualified for being light but otherwise legal. Car number 82 was wider than 65 inches on the rear axle but otherwise legal.

In our rulebook in section 202 letter D the position of the right front tire is addressed. For clarification and clarity. It clearly states that the right front cannot be outside the right rear in the fully maximum legal offset position. If you first set the right tire to max offset and line your right front up according to the rule it will be legal. Pulling the right rear tire in does not make the car illegal. During tech in order to measure the 38 car it was necessary to add a spacer to place the right rear tire to the maximum legal offset in order to measure the position of the right front. A string was attached to the bumper and around the right rear tire and extended to the right front. If the correct spacer is not in place for maximum width, it can make a car appear to be illegal when it is actually legal. That is what we did. The 65” track width was verified without touching the LR tire to verify. The car was never illegal and after replacing the right rear spacer on the axle, we were able to document that.

19 drivers took the call for the season finale of the Midwest Pavement Midget Series finale.

The 25 lap Aaron Willis Sr Memorial race was nothing short of exciting.

Kyle Steffens and Basil Hicks led the field to green with Steffens taking the lead for more the half the event.

Chase Locke took to the high side from the 8th starting position and picked off his competitors one by one to become victorious for the 2nd time in this prestigious event.

All of us here at the Midwest Pavement Midget Series are beyond grateful for all the drivers who traveled from afar to race this event as well as ALL OUR LOCALS who supported us all season. MPMS is nothing without its regulars competitors and all our fans. 2026 provided some outstanding racing every time we hit the track and hope the fans thoroughly enjoyed watching us.

The FASTEST rising name in open wheel pavement racing Chase Cabre invades the Midwest Pavement Midget Series.

Cabre will be making the trek from Cornelius, North Carolina to hop aboard the 3 Stooges Racing #98 machine
