Lady Vikings had a great day on the mat yesterday at Caney Valley! They left 7th place overall with two Champions and two third place finishers! Congratulations ladies and coaches, we are proud of all of you!!💙🤍💪

It was a great opening dual for both the Viking Girls and Viking Boys Wrestling teams. Girls defeated Wellington 42-30 and boys defeated Wellington 65-18💙

Capped off the 2025 wrestling season. Didn’t have the state showing we all hoped but I am forever proud of this group for the great things they accomplished and the great deal of hard work they put in. The boys finished the season as league champs as well as regional runners up. This a testiment to their hard work, determination, and grit. This has been an amazing year and I want to thank all of you boys as well as the awesome group of parents we had supporting us! I also want to thank our assistant coaches Grant Newton, Garrett Gibson, and Corbin Williams as well as WHS Girls Head Coach Andrew Brenn for helping make this season so memorable. A huge shout out to this senior class of boys Talon & Owen Suttles, Mack Morin, Jaxon Gatton, Jhed Bufete, Zane Swinford, Grant Young, and Devin Halstead on some amazing careers. My first class coaching as freshman and my first class of senior as a head coach. I could not have asked for a better class to come in with and am forever grateful for you boys. A big congratulations to Owen and Talon Suttles for being the 4th and 5th four time placers in WHS wrestling history as well as Owen becoming Winfields all time career win leader with 146 career wins. Love all you boys and the direction WHS wrestling is headed. 💙

And just like that another awesome high school wrestling season comes to an end. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported the girls and guys is Salina. The sea of royal blue was deep in the arena all weekend. After all the highs and lows, we will be able to add two new names to the State Placer boards.

Amalee and Rheya may have walked out without any hardware, but Rheya won a match and both girls got some good mat time and witnessed high level wrestling all weekend long. Congratulations ladies on the amazing season!💙

Our Wrestling Banquet will be Sunday March 30th at 1:00pm in the WMS cafeteria. We will be joined by the WHS boys, WMS girls and boys, and the Winfield Youth wrestlers. It will be potluck so bring a side or a dessert. We will celebrate the season and recognize our girls' hard work and accomplishments.

These wrestlers have put in the work all season💙💪💙 They'll leave for Salina tomorrow afternoon and will start the climb towards a state title on Friday at 9:00am. Wrestle with confidence and leave it all on the mat💙
