🏆🐾⚾ WINTER PARK DAWGS 13U — TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS! ⚾🐾🏆

What a weekend of baseball for the Winter Park Dawgs 13U!

These boys had to battle for this one, and I couldn’t be prouder of the way they responded when things didn’t go their way.

We started the tournament strong with a 13–1 win over East Coast Storm, getting great pitching, timely hitting and contributions throughout the lineup.

Our second game was a different story. The DB Bucs jumped on us early, and we fell 10–5. It wasn’t our best baseball, but it gave us an opportunity to talk about something we’ve been emphasizing with this team all season:

How do you respond when you’re down?

Sunday morning, we got our answer.

Against Extreme Force, we fell behind 4–0 early. Instead of getting discouraged, the boys kept battling, took the lead and finished with a 9–4 victory.

That set up another matchup with the DB Bucs — the same team that beat us the day before.

And this time, things got even tougher.

The Dawgs found themselves down 8–2.

Six runs.

It would have been easy to quit.

They didn’t.

They chipped away, kept running, kept hitting and kept believing in each other. The boys fought all the way back to tie the game 9–9.

Then, with the game on the line, Tripp A tagged up and scored the winning run for a 10–9 WALK-OFF VICTORY! 🔥🔥🔥

From being down 8–2 to walking it off and finishing the weekend as CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Tournament Results:
⚾ Dawgs 13 — East Coast Storm 1
⚾ DB Bucs 10 — Dawgs 5
⚾ Dawgs 9 — Extreme Force 4
🏆 Dawgs 10 — DB Bucs 9 — WALK-OFF!

3–1 on the weekend.

But I’m more proud of how we got there than the record.

These boys learned something this weekend that goes way beyond baseball. You’re going to get knocked down. You’re going to fall behind. Things aren’t always going to go your way.

What matters is how you respond.

Keep your head up.
Trust your teammates.
Keep competing.
And PLAY UNTIL THE LAST OUT!

That’s what these boys did.

Great weekend, Dawgs! You earned this one! 🏆🐾⚾
