Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy in Winthrop, Massachusetts officially opened in 1996 by World Class Martial Artist and 4th Degree Black Belt Master Jorge “Goldenfeet” Alves. Master Alves was one of the first students of 7th degree Black Belt Master Joseph Pina, founder of the original Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy, which opened its doors in 1981. Currently, there are four locations. Our academy has proven to be the finest school in the area, dedicated to making your martial arts experience an enjoyable, educational and exciting journey. Our instructors lead by example and teach each and every student equally with enthusiasm and patience. They have studied and trained for years to qualify as part of the Boston Tae Kwon Do Academy team. Our carefully structured programs go far beyond punching, blocking and kicking. We will inspire you to stay fit by providing a comprehensive personal development program. We will empower you by teaching highly effective self-defense skills while building confidence and self-discipline. We pledge to make each student’s journey as fun, inspiring and educating as possible. We monitor progress closely and walk with students every step of the way. How it started vs. How it’s going…. 🥋❤️

Seven years old. That’s how young Marissa was when she first stepped onto our mat. Now, at 18, she’s a high school graduate, 2nd Degree Black Belt, and heading to UMass Dartmouth to study Mechanical Engineering! 🎓⚙️

Marissa, it has truly been a privilege watching you grow from that little girl into the focused and disciplined student you are today, while never losing the vibrant, colorful personality that makes you, you! You are such a great example of what a Boston Taekwondo Black Belt should be, and we couldn’t be more proud. Watching you take your last class with us is definitely bittersweet. We’ll miss having you on the mat, but we’re so excited for this next chapter and everything you’ll accomplish. 🎓🥋❤️
