Dear River Ridge Knight Families,
As the leader of our football program, one of my most important responsibilities is making decisions that are in the best interest of our student-athletes and the long-term success of the River Ridge Knights program.
When we transitioned our youth program to operate under the River Ridge High School football program, our goal was to create a unified vision from our youngest players through the varsity level. As part of that transition, we initially planned to continue utilizing CYFA solely for game scheduling and administrative efficiencies while we established our new structure.
After further evaluation, it became clear that continuing in that arrangement was not in the best interest of our program. We believe the best future for the River Ridge Knights is to fully align with the Cobb Football League (CFL), an organization that includes several neighboring Cherokee County programs along with communities across the surrounding area. This move provides the stability, collaboration, and long-term direction we believe best serves our athletes and families.
Because we believe in keeping our football and cheer programs aligned under one unified organization, our cheer program will also be transitioning to the CFL to cheer all our scheduled games and participate in any other planned events this season.
We understand change often brings questions. We will hold a brief meeting in the River Ridge High school cafeteria at 6:00 PM on July 28th. We will share additional details regarding the transition, registration, scheduling, and what to expect in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your continued trust, support, and commitment to the River Ridge Knights. We are excited about the future and confident this decision positions our program to provide the best possible experience for every student-athlete and family.
Thank you,
Coach Collins
