The line mountain 7 miler is now over. It started out good. Rough as ever but a good course nevertheless. Cruised through the first 3 laps clicking off passes to finally hit clean air until a large rack smashed the front diff and then smacked the rear. I was hoping it was just the diff but when I came back through start/finish rob let me know I blew out a cap on the rear driveshaft from the impact. Up to the trailer I went to quickly replace the slip with something found in the trailer box. Back out I head to try and make up missed time. Lap 4 was good and made it back to the start/finish in enough time to head back out for #5. At that point I was on a tear and was driving with no mechanical sympathy for the car. This became evident just after hitting the mile 4 check point. I left and made it a couple hinder feet before losing all drive completely. I winched my self out of the way and took a look under the skirt and found the trans to atlas adaptor mount had broken in half and ended the day. I couldn’t have been any farther from the trailer at this point but at least I was fairly close to the road and was able to winch myself backwards to a hill where I could coast in reverse a good ways down the trail into a back yard and down the driveway to the road where I awaited rescue with my truck and trailer. All things considered it was still a good day. Still managed to hold onto 8th place in a field stacked full of killers.
