Thirteen recognitions. Nine young women. Several of them were honored for what they did both on the field and in the classroom — because for this group, those were never separate things.

They chose excellence in small moments, when no one was watching. That is the only kind that lasts.

O’Neill added a big night of her own with 3 hits, including her own homer, while Richards collected 2 hits.

Richards, Surbella, Taylor, Kratzer, and Vance were out there running circles around the field, putting pressure on plays and turning chaos into Cardinal offense.

Aggressive baserunning + big bats = a very fun Friday night at the Nest. ❤️💙
