Lost and Found

Someone lost a backpack full of tackle between 515 and 2946 bridges this morning.

I found the backpack floating near the buoy lane close to 2946.

If you lost your pack out of your boat, let me know what it looks like and I will return it.

After three days of crappie fishing, I was ready to get out for a bass fishing trip. Rowdy Starnes and I launched at daylight and with cool cloudy skies we expected to find a good bass bite is shallow water. The morning started out slow with not much feeding activity. The first bite I got was a crappie that hit my square bill crankbait. Rowdy finally broke the ice with a beautiful 7 lb. bass. We finally caught a few more bass shortly after lunch on wacky worms. It’s got to get better soon.

Finished out three days of crappie fishing with son, Brandon and he is headed back to Conway AR with plenty of crappie fillets. We had spectacular weather and the fishing was excellent. The sunrise this morning was a memorable one that we will always remember. I have open dates available for crappie or bass trips and fishing should remain good. My oldest son, Brandon from Conway AR is here on vacation for a few days of crappie fishing. It was a beautiful day and we saw plenty of crappie. No wind days are always a challenge for boat control and made it hard to stay in no position. I will probably end up getting some crappie brakes to help hold the boat in place. Brandon caught a nice bass on a jig and we will be after them again tomorrow.

This morning I had Mike and Rio back out with me on Lake Fork for a combo catfish and crappie trip. We hit a baited hole first for the catfish. The fish were stacked up and the fish were hungry. They dropped that Chumhere Bait down and had 50 on ice in an hour and a half. We then hit a bridge and that 50 crappie two man limit jumped in the cooler in two and a half hours and we headed in. Had a blast with these guys as usual. All the crappie were caught pitching those Stump Creek Jigs hand ties with 7ft Kistler Rods rigged with the new Kistler Crappie reels. John and Trenton George caught a good bag of crappie yesterday. It was their first day behind a Livescope and using long poles and they did a great job. It was Trenton’s birthday and he enjoyed watching how the crappie reacted as the day progressed.

Mike and Debbie Armstrong enjoyed another beautiful sunrise and crappie trip this morning. Debbie let Mike swing at the big ones this morning and he caught another one over two pounds and several other nice size crappie. We only fished a few hours this morning and the slack winds made for a tough bite.

It was a very cool morning on Fork today and the crappie were ready to bite. Mike and Debbie Armstrong were ready for some action and it didn’t take Mike long before he boated a 2.01 crappie. We hit some deep trees I had found holding crappie on Sunday and Mike and Debbie took turns dropping jigs and minnows down to hungry fish. They will be back in my boat in the morning and we look forward to another great fishing day. Got to love this weather.

Good friend, Mike Perkins joined me this morning for a few hours of crappie fishing. The weather was perfect and the crappie bite was good. Looking forward to the approaching cool front tomorrow. Life is good on the lake!
