The BVI Riderz Cycling Club proudly hosted its first-ever JR BMX Race on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The event marked a significant milestone for the club, drawing an enthusiastic crowd and showcasing
the growing talent among the Virgin Islands’ young cyclists.

The race featured three competitive categories:
Under 11 Boys & Girls
11–14 Boys & Girls
15–18 Boys & Girls

In addition to the junior races, the event included the much-anticipated Parents Race and an
Exhibition Race featuring some of the BVI’s seasoned riders, including BVI Riderz Cycling Club President Mr. Calvin Smith.

Families, friends and supporters came out in numbers to cheer on the young cyclists, creating an atmosphere filled with energy, fun, community spirit and family engagement through the sport of
cycling. Cyclists of all ages came together in competition while promoting health, discipline, teamwork, and family fun through the sport.

The club remains committed to fostering youth development and community engagement through cycling. The success of this inaugural JR BMX Race is a testament to the bright future of the sport in the Virgin Islands.

BVI Riderz Cycling Club extends heartfelt thanks to Digicel, Flow BVI, Sweets N Treats & Catering, E & A Catering, and Keymoya Charles for their generous sponsorship and support. Their
contributions played a vital role in making this event a success.

Investing in the Future of Our Youth, today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders, athletes, and role
models. Events like the JR BMX Race provide young people with positive opportunities to stay active, build confidence, develop discipline and learn the value of perseverance. Cycling teaches children that with focus, practice, and determination, they can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.

The BVI Riderz Cycling Club remains committed to creating safe and inspiring spaces where young
people can grow, dream big and stay on the right path. The success of this inaugural race is proof
that the future of cycling and the future of our youth in the Virgin Islands is bright. BVI Riderz Cycling
Club is dedicated to promoting cycling, youth development, fitness, and community engagement
throughout the British Virgin Islands.
