Elections System Schedules Sixth Constitutional Convention Nomination Papers Training 02/02/2024

The Virgin Islands of the U.S. 6th Constitutional Convention Nomination Papers Training, held by the Elections System of the Virgin Islands will include the requirements to become a candidate when to obtain packages for nomination, documents required when submitting the nomination papers, and other pertinent election information.

Training locations and times are:

St. Croix Elections Office– Sunny Isles Shopping Center, Unit 26, 1st Floor on Tuesday, February 6, at 5:30 p.m.

St. Thomas Elections Office- Lockhart Gardens (Upstairs Banco Popular) on Thursday, February 8, at 5:30 p.m.

Be about it if you want to better understand. I’m still learning, but am interested.

The National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress (LC) to create a national digital resource of historically significant newspapers published between 1690 and 1963, from all the states and U.S. jurisdictions. This searchable database will be permanently maintained at LC and will be freely accessible online (see the Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers website). The accompanying US Newspaper Directory of bibliographic and holdings information on the website directs users to newspaper titles available in all types of formats. During the course of its partnership with NEH, LC will also digitize and contribute to the NDNP database a significant number of newspaper pages drawn from its own collections.

Dollar fo’ Dollar Tour Honoring 1892 Coal Workers' Strike is Saturday on STT The 17th annual "Dollar fo' Dollar Culture & History Tour: A Remembrance of the Coal Workers’ Strike of 1892 on St. Thomas," will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday starting at Roosevelt Park (Coconut Square) and ending at Market Square, St. Thomas.

Greetings and Happy Disability Pride Month! Today, July 26th, 2021 marks the 31st Anniversary of the passage of the American with Disabilities Act.

The Office of Senator Genevieve Whitaker celebrates disability pride month with persons with disabilities in the Virgin Islands. Watch a special episode of "What's Going on " (UVI School of Agriculture) as University of the Virgin Islands President David Hall speaks with SOA Communication Specialist DaraMonifah Cooper live 3pm tomorrow (Wednesday, May 12, 2021) for more details on the Agricultural Plan Task Force to Hold Food Security Town Halls planned for St. John (May 17), St. Croix (May 19) and St. Thomas (June 3). The meetings are scheduled to gather input from farmers and other stakeholders regarding which governmental tools and support would assist them in increasing yield and quality of food production in order to increase the territory’s sustainability and become more self-reliant.
