The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has proudly selected our Virgin Islands Track & Field President Keith A. Smith Sr. to serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade! 🎉💚
Keith is a highly respected community figure whose impact reaches far across the Virgin Islands. With over 30 years in education, more than 20 years organizing Cross Country and Track & Field events, and a legacy as a Pan American Games bronze medalist and 1992 Olympian, he continues to uplift and inspire our youth every single day.
Join us on Saturday, March 14, 2026, as he leads this year’s parade through the streets of Christiansted!
📍 Starts at the Fort on Company Street
⏰ Parade begins at 11:00 a.m.
🚧 Route closes at 9:00 a.m.—come early!
🛍️ Vendors set up from 8:00 a.m.
🎺 Floats & troops arrive by 9:30 a.m.

2023 - Mustang Michelle Smith struck gold in the 400m Hurdles at the 50th CARIFTA Games in The Bahamas, delivering a brilliant 57.69 in her first year competing in the Under‑20 category. A powerful statement on a big stage.

2023 - Virgin Islands National Team member Michelle Smith broke the Virgin Islands National record in the 800m by running a 2:07.95!! Michelle competed in the 800m at the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee Florida on March 24, 2023 and the 16 year old broke the 10 year old record of 2:08.43 previously held by Ninfa Barnard. With this accomplishment Michelle now holds 2 Virgin Islands National Records, the 400m Hurdles set last year at the World Athletics U20 Championships and the newly acquired 800m!

2023 - Mustang Michelle Smith was part of the record breaking 4 X 400m relay performance at the Florida Relays in Gainesville Florida on March 31 and April 1, 2023. Michelle ran the 2nd leg of the 4 X 400m relay with the Montverde Academy girls as they ran a United States High School #6 ALL-TIME of 3:37.98. Breaking the Florida Relays Record, previously held by Miami Northwestern with a 3:39.95 set in 2019, and the Florida State Record of 3:38.26, held by St. Thomas Aquinas set in 2014.
