Human biomechanics and structure reflect a complex interaction of physics, biology, neurology, and adaptation. Therefore, applying generic, one-size-fits-all training methodologies to multifactorial human systems may be overly reductionist.

A person may have scoliosis without lower back pain, as not all spinal curvatures are symptomatic. Conversely, lower back pain may create a functional spinal deviation.

WRIST
Acting as a hinge, the wrist articulates with the forearm and the bones of the hand. Together, the 27 bones in the wrist and hand allow the precise finger movements needed to perform many necessary tasks, such as typing, writing, and eating. Distally, the radius and ulna make the distal radioulnar joint, which interacts with the carpal bones. The carpus, or wrist, is composed of eight small bones arranged in two rows. The proximal row contains the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, and pisiform. This row interacts with the ulna and radius. The distal row contains the trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, and hamate. This row interacts with the five metacarpal bones of the hand (Moore et al., 2013).

The pelvic girdle (hip girdle) is formed by a single bone, the hip bone or coxal bone (coxal = “hip”), which serves as the attachment point for each lower limb. Each hip bone, in turn, is firmly joined to the axial skeleton via its attachment to the sacrum of the vertebral column. The right and left hip bones also converge anteriorly to attach to each other. The bony pelvis is the entire structure formed by the two hip bones, the sacrum, and, attached inferiorly to the sacrum, the coccyx.

___________
During pregnancy, the growing abdomen shifts the center of gravity forward, often increasing lumbar lordosis by up to 41%. Hormones like relaxin loosen ligaments, while stretched abdominal muscles reduce core stability, increasing strain on the spine and contributing to low back pain.

The pelvic floor is a hammock-shaped sheet of muscles and ligaments stretching from the p***c bone to the tailbone, supporting pelvic organs (bladder, bowel, uterus/prostate) and controlling waste release. It is crucial for sexual function, core stability, and pregnancy.

Joint Hypermobility, Pain, and Early Degenerative Change 29/04/2026

Joint hypermobility is not inherently pathological. It is a physical trait that may offer advantages, create challenges, or remain irrelevant depending on the individual and the demands placed upon the body. Effective management depends on accurate assessment, appropriate loading, and recognition that not all joints require the same strategy.

Joint Hypermobility, Pain, and Early Degenerative Change Joint hypermobility exists across a broad spectrum and is found in both active and general populations. It refers to joints that move beyond expected physiological ranges because of differences in …

The linea alba (Latin for "white line") is a fibrous, connective tissue structure running vertically down the midline of the abdomen, separating the left and right re**us abdominis muscles. Formed by the fused aponeuroses of abdominal muscles, it attaches to the xiphoid process and p***c symphysis, serving as a key anchor for abdominal stability
