HOME ADVANTAGE PROVES TOO MUCH

All the home teams managed to pick up wins in The Hoi An Darts League last week 🏠

Big shoutout to Route 66 who got their first win of the season against their rasta brothers 👊🍁

A massive game between last seasons biggest rivals saw Hattricks take all 3 points at home to The Buffs in a game that went to a 901 decider 👀 The win puts Hattricks back in the race for the title 💪

And finally AfterEight showed yet again that they are the team to beat this season with a win against the travelling biker boys 💪 4 wins out of 4 now for AfterEight with a lot of their remaining games being played at home…safe to say they are the current favourites to win Season 2 😎

Tomorrow night sees Hattricks host Route 66, Namduros will try to put some distance between them and the bottom as they welcome Rastaman, and we have a repeat of the controversial “friendly fixture” from week 1 with the current top 2 facing off at The Happy Buffalo 👀

FINALLY NO DRAMA😂

It was quite a civilised week for once in The Hoi An Darts League…

No complaints made to the association which is great 😎

3 close games were played too all finishing 4-2🎯

Route 66 put up a great fight against The Buffs away from home! 👍

AfterEight got a great win away at Rastaman considering the Rastaboys managed to beat league champions Hattricks last week💪

And finally Hattricks got their first points on the board with a great result against a formidable Namduros away from home ☘️

3 big games await us next week too with the two Rasta Bars playing each other for the first time 😎🍁

Hattricks may need some extra security as the Buffs roll in this week…it’s become quite a rivalry between these two 👀

And AfterEight will play their first home game of the season against the Biker Boys Namduros 🏍️

WHEN WILL THE CARNAGE END? 😳

More chaos in the Darts League last week…

Our newcomers AfterEight and Route66 played a solid game with AfterEight coming out on top 👍

Namduros struggled to field a team but Happy Buffalo captain Paul, alongside star player Micky Teaspoon, decided to get their biker T-shirts on and play for their opponents 😮 A stark difference to their behaviour the week before when they were calling for 6-0 forfeits for Hattricks and Rastaman….🙄

Despite having two of the Buffs finest players, Namduros fell short against the Buffs in the end 😯

Hattricks were missing captain Danny this week and Rastaman were only able to field 3 players 🙈 Hattricks were kind enough to let one of the Rastamen play twice and in the end the 3 beat the 4 from Hattricks 😱

No one expected league champions Hattricks to lose their first two games of the season…they currently sit tied at the bottom with Route 66…

Rastaman are tied with Namduros on 3 points and AfterEight and Happy Buffalo sit in joint first place with two wins out of two 💪

Our league table is currently arranged by “leg difference” but the association and founding members are yet to discuss how league positions will be decided if two or more teams finish on the same points at the end of the season🤔

All will be discussed at a future captains meeting 😏

What was the most shocking thing this week? Hattricks losing at home to Rastaman? Or The Happy Buffalo’s kindness in contrast to their fierce competitiveness the week before? 🧐

THE TWO TEAMS THAT MANAGED TO PLAY A COMPETITIVE GAME LAST WEEK 😍

The Hoi An Darts League is back tomorrow for Week 2🎯

ABSOLUTE CARNAGE😮

Nothing but sheer madness unfolded in the first week of Season 2…we’ve got all the gossip don’t worry…

The only “competitive” game this week took place between Namduros and Route 66. Route 66 threw some good arrers but the experienced Namduros managed to get a comfortable victory in the end 💪

The chaos came from the other two fixtures…It all started when the Darts League and the Happy Buffalo were told that Rastaman would be unable to field a team…an agreement was made between The Happy Buffalo and Rastaman that the game would result in an automatic 0-6 win for the Buffs. Rules around forfeits were never established by the founding members or the Association.

The Association was then informed by Hattricks that they were going to struggle to host their Home fixture to AfterEight following one of the busiest nights in the bar’s history. An attempt was made to have the fixture reversed so that Hattricks could play away, but this put last minute pressure on AfterEight to have their venue ready.

A suggestion was made to the association to have AfterEight play the Buffs at the Happy Buffalo and as a result Hattricks and Rastaman could play each other in a week 1 fixture another time. The association agreed to this and AfterEight travelled to the Happy Buffalo.

What unfolded at the Happy Buffalo was a shock 4-2 victory for AfterEight 😮 But the surprises didn’t end there….some people claimed that the game was competitive and others claimed it to be merely a friendly. It was said by some that Hattricks, alongside Rastaman, had already forfeited to AfterEight due to them being unable to fulfil the original fixture 😳

This sparked endless amounts of back and forths throughout the Hoi An Darts League.

Should teams be able to reschedule fixtures within reason? Should the rules be as strict as be there or be square? Was a competitive game changed to a friendly based on an unfavourable result? Is the association biased towards certain teams? 🤔

The heated exchanges went on from Thursday afternoon to the early hours of Saturday morning. It must be made clear that Hattricks and Rastaman were happy to forfeit from the start of the conversations.

There will now be a “strict rule” approach in place for the league. If your team is not there you lose 6-0. Any members short of 4 and you lose the relevant legs. No changes can be made to the season 2 fixture list.😳

There were also rumours that some players who claimed they couldn’t play their fixture were spotted in the crowd at other games! The Association has decided not comment on this at this time.

It was a tough week for admin Cian with the head of the Darts League Nick The Kip on a business trip in the UK. Accusations of corruption and dealing with messages of complaints at 3am. You’d only do it for the love of the arrers🎯

It’s fair to say that the experienced boys have set a great example for our newcomers😂 Route 66 and AfterEight must be wondering what the hell they’ve gotten into😂

All jokes aside, even though there were disputes, it was great to see that it was all banter in the end really. The spirit of the Hoi An Darts League shone through each exchange. Long may it continue and boy do we have a seriously competitive league on our hands now 😎

THE FINAL POST OF SEASON 1 🎯

We’re leaving season 1 behind us now folks with bigger and better things ahead😎

What an amazing first season it was❤️

It all started with Hattrick’s Irish Sports Bar - Hoi An and The Happy Buffalo getting dart boards at the same time and playing for a laugh in each others bars on a Thursday night 🎯

Rastaman Bar came in then to stir things up and Namduro's Clubhouse went out of there way to give us an even amount of teams 🙏

The end result was a fully functioning Darts League taking place across 4 venues in Hoi An🇻🇳

The season came to an end in another friend’s bar Beach Shack Hoi An who hosted the one day Beach Shack Cup and award ceremony🏆 This is something we will continue to do at the end of each season ❤️

It’s amazing to see that our friends Route 66 Reggae Bar and After Eight Bar Hoi An have now joined the league too🎉

Rivalries formed but so did friendships. There were great arrers and probably even more bad ones 😂 But above all The Hoi An Darts League is a testament to the great community of people living among us ❤️

THE ASSOCIATION 😎

The man who brought the arrers to Hoi An, A.K.A Nick the Kip, A.K.A the head of the Hoi An Darts League, and admin Cian, together known as The Association, and best darts commentators in the world, had a very important meeting the day after The Beach Shack Cup 👔

Both have decided to continue in their roles for season 2 of The League 🎯

With their faces now being made public, you may start seeing them around a bit more😉
