Today we explored Million Dollar Point on Espiritu Santo – where history meets the ocean in the most incredible way.

At the end of World War II, the US military pushed thousands of tonnes of trucks, bulldozers, machinery, tyres and supplies into the sea. Instead of rusting away unnoticed, nature has transformed them into an amazing artificial reef, now covered in colourful coral and surrounded by tropical fish. (Triton Explorers)

Snorkelling here feels like swimming through a living underwater museum. One moment you’re floating over an old bulldozer, the next you’re surrounded by schools of reef fish weaving through history.

It’s a place that reminds you how nature can reclaim almost anything, turning yesterday’s machinery into today’s marine paradise.
