Nice to see 🇻🇺 Chloe Amera featured in World Rowing Ocean Day post

🌊🚣 A great weekend at Ōrewa Beach, Auckland at the 2026 NZ Beach Sprint Championships, 25–27 April. 🏅

Port Vila Rowing Club entered three athletes — Teiva Chabod & Chloe Amera in the U18 singles and mixed doubles under coach Risu Rii, and Ben Pechan in the senior events under coach Laryssa Biesenthal OLY.

Teiva and Chloe gained valuable experience against strong junior competition 💪in their debut international event.

Ben finished 🥇 1st in the Men’s Senior Club event and 🥉 3rd in the Men’s Open Finals behind Matt Dunham — World Championship silver medallist, and current NZ Beach Sprint champion.

Great to share the regatta with our friends from the American Samoa Coastal Rowing Team. Faafetai tele lava! 🤝

Congratulations to our Vanuatu Coastal Beach Sprint rower, Ben Pechan, who won the open men’s single held at the North Island Champs, Titahi Bay, Wellington, New Zealand, earlier this month.

We are looking forward to sending a team to compete in the under 18’s and open event’s at the New Zealand Coastal Rowing Championships at Orewa, Auckland, in April.

From the shores of the Pacific to the coast of Antalya, Türkiye — Ben Pechan is representing Vanuatu at the 2025 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals! 🌍🔥

This prestigious event, running from 6–9 November, brings together over 300 elite athletes from 55 nations, all competing in this thrilling coastal discipline set to debut at the 2028 Olympics. Ben is going head-to-head with the world’s best in a sport that demands speed, power, and precision — all against the backdrop of the Mediterranean waves.

➡️ The AGM is 5.00pm next Tuesday the 9th of February at the Port Vila Rowing Club. We have four nominations for the VRA committee, all financial members may nominate up to 5pm on the 4th of February‼️
➡️ Also early bird period for discount annual fees expires on the 14th February. All 2021 fees are published at the rowing shed on the front door. Please take a membership renewal form from Willie and return with the correct fees as cash or Cheque to Willie between 5:30-11:30 weekdays 🐦
