The Vanuatu United Football Club (VUFC) is proud to confirm the signing of National U16 captain Ala Leo Russel, marking a historic milestone for the Vanuatu Football Federation National Academy and a defining moment for football development in the country.

Ala’s progression through the academy system has been exemplary. After earning opportunities last season as a training player, he impressed coaches and senior players alike with his professionalism, work ethic, and maturity. He featured in several friendly matches, gaining valuable experience alongside national team stars such as Alex Saniel and foreign players like Cardona, Ramazani, Acton, Smith and Ingham, players he admired.

This signing represents the first time a player from the Vanuatu Football Federation National Academy has transitioned fully into the professional environment, a key milestone in VUFC’s long‑term strategic plan. 🇻🇺
