We are incredibly proud to announce the latest acquisition to our archives: the game-worn jersey of Saskatchewan Roughriders icon, Jack Abendschan.
For 11 seasons (1965–1975), number 53 was a force on the field, anchoring the offensive line and serving as one of the most accurate kickers of his era.
From his pivotal role in the 1966 Grey Cup victory, where he converted all four of our touchdowns, to his seven Western All-Star selections, Jack’s impact on this franchise is immeasurable.
We’re honoured to be the caretakers of this jersey, ensuring that the legacy of #53 continues to be celebrated by Rider Nation.
Rest in peace, Jack. Thank you for everything you gave to the Green and White.
